Awful and Inappropriate Fare

Couldn't believe when I saw sections about the merits of botox and liposuction and where are most popular places to get it. How this and other tidbits are cool for girls to learn about, let alone in a "fun way" is grotesque. Returned this one pronto.

Even worse if you compare it to the Boys version

Sexist nonsense ... preteen girls need diet advice? Really? Even worse if you compare it to the Boys version, which is about building rockets, academics, rather than this glitter eyeshadow nonsense written for the girls.

What a Great Book - Wish it had been around when I was growing up!

What a great book for young girls. My almost 11 yr. old granddaughter was thrilled with it and started reading it right away. Don't be put off by some of the negative comments. It seems some people scoured the book to find a negative passage (usually clarified appropriately by the author if you read far enough). The book is full of wonderful information for helping young women grow up in today's world. Exposing them to reality in a thoughtful, insightful, and humorous way gives them a valuable tool for dealing with what is out there today (and it is nothing like the world my generation grew up in). Nice job!

Speedy Dekivery & SUPER Product!!

This book is much LARGER than I expected - but in a great way! It’s large in size as well as thick and colourful ... inside it covers every topic you can imagine from different points of view; which is positive from a parent point of view as wel. Would definitely recommend. SOEEDT DELIVERY, packaged well and true to its description.

A great book for pre-teens!

I got this book for a friend's nine year old for her birthday. She is in that weird "kind of a kid but also a wanna be teenager" phase. It's great to see her reading rather than stuck with her head in an iPad. She told me that it was her favorite birthday gift and all of her friends read it together at school and the book gets passed around throughout the day. I really agree with the information it is sharing with young girls too, for example one of the "cell phone commandments" states that it is rude to talk on the phone in front of other people if it is more than a minute or two conversation. It is also empowering at times and encourages girls to stand up for others and what they believe in. It also has some other teenybopper topics like what to do if a boy likes you and you do not like him.
