Huge book!

This was a hit with my 9 year old nephew. I thought that he may think the book is too childish because it's a huge l, thin book. The pictures are stunning and the information is easy for him to understand. He loves it so I love it!

What a great book!

My son loves dinosaurs so I stumbled on to this book! And wow I was pleasantly surprised! It’s fantastic. The cover is so colorful, shiny, realistic and just great! Catches you attention immediately! The book is big in size so the pictures are big and very detailed. With pictures that will excite you and any kid. The text is good size so it’s pretty visible and easy to read with understandable words for smaller kids. My son loved this book at 6 years old. It’s hardcover and it’s great quality. So I would really recommend this book for any kids or adult. You don’t even need to love dinosaurs, because this book will capture your attention for hours!

Best for younger children, not a lot of content but gorgeous photos!

This book is skimpy on the info on most pages and the
amount of pages . I included photos because I find those really helpful in reviews. It was indeed big - but only in the sense that the pages are huge and the book is very tall, but there are very few pages and most of the info is pretty sparse feeling. I did include a photo of one of the most info dense pages, the Trex pages . This is a good book for a very young child, a general dino lover (would be a cute, short coffee table book for the adult fan) or one that mostly adores photos and won't sit long for information. The content is about 29 pages, with most being taken up by beautiful renditions of some favorite and lesser known dinos. I asked my mother in law to get this one since it was on sale for $7.50 for my son's Christmas gift, and for that price I'd say it's decent. I certainly wouldn't pay the full list price of $15 for this and had I flipped through it in a store I probably wouldn't have bought it at the fulo price, but I'm glad we are adding it to our collection. The national geographic first big book of dinos is about $10 and has like fifty times the photos and content of this book for comparison, and would make a wonderful companion to this book for the younger child just learning about dinos.

Despite my qualms with all that, it's still a decent book but not what I thought we'd be getting, hence the stars. The other dinosaur book by DK/Smithsonian titled "Dinosaur!" For not much more than this one made by the same people would be a better option or even a big step up from this book for younger children. I think my 2.5 year old will enjoy this for the photos and it'll be a good book for him to spend time by himself with since the photos are so well done and it's definitely interesting.

Great for kids & adults!

My 10yo son LOVES dinosaurs. Always has! I found this book while searching for his monthly book that I order each of my kids. I found another one that was a pop-up book about Dinosaurs but it cost more than I was willing to pay for just a little gift, perfect for his b-day though!
Awesome book, kids love it, I love it, would definitely would recommend it.

Recommend this for dinosaur loving kids!

Bought this for my 4 yr old grandson as he loves his dinosaurs. This is now his favorite book and he can identify them correctly by their picture. While reading about the dinosaurs I have a problem trying to pronounce som of the names and he corrects me every time with the correct pronunciation. Good book!

Very nice book!

Bought this for my 5 yr old grandson who loves dinosaurs. What a surprise when it arrived. The cover is beautiful. The dinosaur is iridescent. The pictures of the dinosaurs are great. The scientific names are hard to pronounce, but there is a glossary and beside each name is a pronunciation of the species. Beautifully illustrated book.
