Lots of crafts to pick from

I saw this reviewed at another site, and bought it for my family. We needed some crafts for our kids, and wanted something a little different. After I got it, I found out there was even more than I thought. By buying different colors of duct tape, we could build everything from toys to Christmas decoration. My boys and I have built several of these, including flowers for mom, and will building more in the future.

Great project book!!

I recieved this book as a gift and before I could even open the cover, my 9 year old daughter ran off to find her duct tape supply and started crafting! This book has easy to follow instructions and plenty of pictures. She hasn't let go of it yet and keeps giving lists of colors she needs to my husband and I! Some of the stuff in this book is amazing!

We have been making duct tape wallets together and the instructions are very easy to follow

This book was a huge hit with my 11 year old daughter. We have been making duct tape wallets together and the instructions are very easy to follow. We've been through several duct tape projects books and this is our favorite so far! To give someone a leg up....I'd recommend using the scotch duct tape it is much easier to work with and more forgiving. I also purchased a pair of scissors that adhesives cannot stick to (office depot) and we used a work mat for measuring because working with a ruler takes forever compared to a mat. I know others use a craft knife and that's also what the book says to use but I'm not sure my daughter could do the projects on her own with a craft knife without having an accident. Great book and glad I got it for her. Sidenote: office depot puts their scotch duct tape on sale all the time!

Not worth the money

I thought the instructions were unclear and there's not enough pictures. The pictures that are there aren't very good. I bought this book for my 9 year old daughter for Christmas and she got so frustrated with it that she quit before she even made anything. I tried to make a bi-fold wallet for my son from this book and found the instructions confusing. I resorted to You Tube videos and tossed the book aside.
Also, I bought this book for my daughter (as I stated previously) and a lot of the projects in here aren't kid friendly - they are large or just not something a kid would be interested in making. I expected more.
Don't waste your money on this book.

didn't like it

I did not care for this product. I purchased for my 9 and 10 year olds. The directions are not very easy to follow. Requires A LOT of parental help!!

Kind of Complicated

I liked the craftiness of this book. However, the directions are kind of difficult to read. It took about three people to decipher how to make a belt with duct tape. The upside is that the more you work with the book, the easier it becomes to catch on to the difficult instructions. There are detailed pictures to help you along. If you like crafts, you'll like this book. There are all kinds of creations like pillows, belts, clothing, wallets, etc.

Great projects

I'm not sure how or why duct tape has become so popular with kids right now, but my 11 year old daughter has spent hours creating various items. She likes this book for ideas and instructions.

Great ideas

I've seen quite a number of these types of books since my daughter has duct taped(decorated) just about everything she can think of. She has made a lot of really cute items that she came up with using her own imagination. This book though has a lot more pages and, therefore, more ideas. Keeping her duct/duck taped supply up is the expensive part but I love that she is using her imagination and not just watching TV or on the computer or Kindle. She is 11. Younger kids could do many things with it but not so young that they can't use scissors well or read the directions unless an adult or older child is willing to help. If they have to struggle too hard and someone else ends up doing most of the work then they will just end up frustrated. Everyone knows that if nothing else works, duct tape will fix anything, right? I won't tell you how my husband ended up with the nickname from the TV show(and I am not sure how it's spelled anymore) with the guy that could fix anything with duct tape- MacGyver? It was one thing that duct tape and silicone ear plugs did not fix on a car though. Now you can fix everything with pretty or funny duct tape.

GOOD IDEAS, DIFFICULT DIRECTIONS

I bought this book as a supplement to All Duct Out and Duct Tape Party. Each of those comes with templates for items to make but the book has many more ideas so it's good in that respect. The problem is that the directions are very hard to follow and there are no useful diagrams to help you figure out what they mean. The pieces of tape you cut to assemble an item are referred to by their color, making it impossible to follow if you have more than one piece in the same color. For example, working with 4 pieces of blue tape, they refer to each piece as the "blue piece" rather than piece A or piece 1 so it's unclear which piece they mean and if you've decided to use blue and pink, then forget it, you'll never figure it out. The book is a great idea but it would be much better if it were a DVD!
