This is a great book for parents

This is a great book for parents. I got this for my niece who is having her first child in December. Communication is such an important part of our society. This book is a daily language development guide. This book is targeted for ages 2 to 5. Activities for morning, afternoon and evening are given to encourage communication with your toddler. What I especially like about this book are the stages of language development that a child should have by a certain age. This also includes a general guideline of how many words a child should be saying at a particular age. I did have a speech delayed child who required special therapy as a toddler. This book would have given me more ideas to help her with speech development.

good resource for late talkers

my son is almost 2 and he's a late talker so this book helps me with some ideas on talking with him. Some of the ideas are for older kids but the concepts in the front 50 pages are probably the best for younger toddlers. Even though I can get these ideas on youtubes or other social media I like that the book is all in one and I can refer back anytime.

Full of Great Ideas!

This is a really helpful and informative book for anybody with a toddler in the home. While the title makes it sounds like a simple book (who doesn't talk to their child?) it is actually full of lots of useful tips and guides, so that your toddler can get the most out of interactions with you. The book dedicates some space to general speaking tips, such as self-talk and Milieu Teaching, the bulk of the book is focused on specific activities for communicating with your toddler. These are divided up by time and category, and many of them are very good! I did think some of them, visiting the fire station, yoga, fake dentist appointment, were a bit ambitious and not practical, but overall the quality is high and I would recommend this to anyone with a young toddler!

Interactive Activities That actually Make Learning to Speak into A Fun Game!

With the internet and charts showing what your child should or should not be able to do at certain ages, it can become a bit overwhelming, when your little one isn't exactly verbalizing at the level they "should" be it can cause parents anxiety. With this book you'll be able to support and motivate your little one to speak using more than just the classic repeating of a word until both you and the toddler is bored, these games will keep both parties engaged and make it fun to speak! Apart from being fun and helping teach your child how to speak these games are a great way to feel closer to your kid and spend quality time with them even when your just taking a drive, little free moments you two have together turn into bonding moments and interactive play time!.

Totally brilliant! And an absolutely wonderful book for parents with young children. My son is turning 2 this October and my best friend got this for me as a surprise because it worked so well for her and her daughter. Her daughter had a lot of trouble (or what some would call trouble--who knows, we all develop at different rates) acquiring language and these exercises helped their family out so much. This book is designed for children aged 2-5, and I find that that is an age group where we all as parents don't say "no" to a little extra help! (Am I right? Haha) One of the things that I love most in reading this as well is that it gives me a concept of those developmental markers that children "should" be reaching at a certain point. It helps keep me on track as a mother and keep me informed. Very good read! The activities are fun and the information is fascinating.

Great starting point

I bought it to help my 18 month old start to speak since I really had no idea how to start. The activities are interactive and a little bit more on the older toddler side in my opinion but it’s a great book for sparking your own ways of increasing your child’s communication. Buy it, gift it, love it!
