More self-absorbed than helpful!

I will admit that there are some tidbits of good advice in this book. However, the useful tips are mixed in with random tips based on Ms. Zoe's personal preferences. And even that is buried in a lot of discussion about what it means to live glamorously and how glamorous Ms. Zoe's life is and names of all the celebrities she works with and all of the places she's been. She does state several times that you don't have to have a lot of money to be able to have style and live glamorously, but that claim alone is not any help. If you'd like to know more about Ms. Zoe's own lifestyle, this is a great book. However, if you have ever wished you had a team of stylists like celebrities do to help you look your best, this doesn't come close to helping you become your own stylist. Yes, I should have been warned by the fact that the author's name is in the title - I just figured there are only so many titles style books can have, and this was clever. Really, it's just a clue that it's about Rachel Zoe's life and personal style, nothing more.

A Great Insight Into the World of Style

I bought this book because I am a fan of Rachel Zoe, and fashion/style in general, and I am really pleased with it overall! I read some reviews that ragged on it, saying that all Rachel wanted to do was flaunt her socialite life and the people she knew - but in my opnion, having now read the book, it is more about gaining a worldly sense of personal style and glamour - even with jeans and a t-shirt. If that happens to be through the words of Jennifer Garner or Michael Kors, then so be it! I am GLAD she included these celebrity testimonials - they make even the most normal of us feel connected to their world. I think some people have the idea that style is for a high class, elite group of people and is so unattainable in real life. False. This book gives you inspiration to express your glamourous side even on your day off of work.

If you love fashion, style, culture, beautiful things, inspiration, Rachel Zoe or anything mah-jor - this book is definitely for you!

A little dissapointed

I was expecting a bit more that just a regurgitation from her t.v. show and this is just that. If you watched her first season, this is everything that she ever covered about fashion and what to wear and what not too.

Zoe

This book has some good pointers and it's interesting to hear what some of the designers have to say. Not unexpectedly, Zoe seems to have little grasp of the fact that everyone can't afford a Chanel bag and the book seems like an excuse for picture after picture of Zoe in beautiful clothes nuzzling her high fashion/high profile "friends." If you are really interested in a book about fashion you might want to choose something else.

It's not supposed to be serious - it's a fun read

I really like Rachel Zoe. I like her show. I like her style. And I like this book. It's true that there is a flamboyant aura to her prose - but I think it's fabulous. I recommend it.
