Start Over (Start Again Series)

J. Saman does it again!! "Start Over" is another great romance novel by J. Saman. This is the second J. Saman book I've read, and I loved it just as much as the first book, "Start Again". Luke Walker is a sexy guy, and although I will never meet him in person, I love to live vicariously thru J. Saman's stories. They're so interesting, and so delicious, that I look forward to her next novel. I know I'm going to love whatever sexy guy she dreams up next.

Ivy Green (love that name btw) and Luke Walker are having a tumultuous romance. I feel as if I should give them advice because I view them as my friends. They're my friends the way Ivy Green was accepted into the circle of friends at the engagement party - immediate and unconditional acceptance, no strings attached. The biggest priority is to just have fun. Interestingly, the book is written from both points of view - Ivy's and Luke's. I also appreciate how their relationship develops throughout the book. Relationships aren't easy, and this one is no exception to that rule. The reader is taken on quite a ride in this book.

I highly recommend this book. It's a real crowd pleaser. J. Saman is an excellent writer, and "Start Over" is an excellent book.

Dr Ivy Green, love the name by the way, is a play by the rules woman who is trying to find serenity after a bad day at work, while drinking at a local pub. When she meets a crazy but wonderful woman, she ends up crashing a party only to find herself looking into the person she’s been thinking of for the last ten years. Too bad she has to leave town in a month to pursue a fellowship across the country!

Luke Walker, another wonderful name as such, is known to Saman’s readers by the “Start Again” book, the first one in the series. He is handsome and intelligent and happens to be in that same party that Ivy is crashing. He also happens to be the guy that Ivy had in her mind for the past decade. Wander is that he has never forgotten her either. So when their eyes meet, the world stops and as they stare at each other no one else exists in their little microcosm.

Saman is going through a second chance book in the “Start Again” series in absolute mastery. She had done a great work in the first book, Start Again, but she is really mastering it in the second. The characters are concrete and smooth and devoted to each other to a degree they cannot even imagine. They are both great at what they do and this sometimes can be a hurdle, but the manage to overcome, as love conquers all!

Different aspects of life are also considered in this book as well. The hidden messages are big, without making it into a drama or a sad book. There is stalking, domestic violence and child abuse, all passing through in a way to spread the message but not ruin the whole romance book atmosphere. The author uses the heros from the first book, to build the story upon, even though reading them in order is not really necessary.

This can surely tell a thing or two to you, but it will never leave the level of a happily ever after book. Just go for it on a cozy winter afternoon!
