Description
"J. J. Lamb and Bette Golden Lamb are terrific writers of exciting stories." Gayle Lynds, author ofxa0 Thexa0Book of Spies "A chilling, gripping thriller by a talented writing couple." Marcia Muller, MWA Grand Master and creator of the acclaimed Sharon McCone series. Writing about RN Gina Mazzio and her boyfriend, RN Harry Lucke, has been a fun experience. It is also a privilege to tell about characters who dedicate their lives to helping others. Many of the people our protagonists work with (as in real life) spend each and every day, perhaps not with murder, but certainly in pain, distress, and danger. We hope most of our books bring the positive recognition that nurses deserve. Bette Golden Lamb, an ex-Bronxite, writes crime fiction and plays with clay in her home studio. She also hangs out with her 50+ rose bushes, and often sneaks out to the movies when she should be writing or sculpting. J. J. Lamb swapped engineering studies for journalism and an Associated Press career. An Army intervention provided him with a top-secret clearance, a locked room with a table-chair-typewriter combination, and the time to write short stories. This led to a PI series featuring Zachariah Tobias Rolfe III, then collaboration with Bette. The Lambs live in Northern California, where they are busy creating, together and individually. Features & Highlights
- It's RN Gina Mazzio's wedding eve. As she takes the week's final Ob/Gyn telephone advice call, a deadly serious voice says, "She's all cut up." The police, the hospital administrator, and even her fiance insist it was a crank call, some sicko. Gina doesn't buy it. She pursues the source of the call, and a second one to her home, linking the caller to a series of nurse disappearances. Instead of a wedding and honeymoon, Gina is drawn into the illicit and dangerous trade in human body parts.
