Description

"J. J. Lamb and Bette Golden Lamb are terrific writers of exciting stories." Gayle Lynds, author ofxa0 Thexa0Book of Spies "A chilling, gripping thriller by a talented writing couple." Marcia Muller, MWA Grand Master and creator of the acclaimed Sharon McCone series. Writing about RN Gina Mazzio and her boyfriend, RN Harry Lucke, has been a fun experience. It is also a privilege to tell about characters who dedicate their lives to helping others. Many of the people our protagonists work with (as in real life) spend each and every day, perhaps not with murder, but certainly in pain, distress, and danger. We hope most of our books bring the positive recognition that nurses deserve. Bette Golden Lamb, an ex-Bronxite, writes crime fiction and plays with clay in her home studio. She also hangs out with her 50+ rose bushes, and often sneaks out to the movies when she should be writing or sculpting. J. J. Lamb swapped engineering studies for journalism and an Associated Press career. An Army intervention provided him with a top-secret clearance, a locked room with a table-chair-typewriter combination, and the time to write short stories. This led to a PI series featuring Zachariah Tobias Rolfe III, then collaboration with Bette. The Lambs live in Northern California, where they are busy creating, together and individually. Features & Highlights

  • It's RN Gina Mazzio's wedding eve. As she takes the week's final Ob/Gyn telephone advice call, a deadly serious voice says, "She's all cut up." The police, the hospital administrator, and even her fiance insist it was a crank call, some sicko. Gina doesn't buy it. She pursues the source of the call, and a second one to her home, linking the caller to a series of nurse disappearances. Instead of a wedding and honeymoon, Gina is drawn into the illicit and dangerous trade in human body parts.

The Lambs do it again

Bette Golden Lamb and JJ Lamb are terrific writers individually or together, and Sin and Bones is one of their best. Gina Mazzio is a wonderful hero, a nurse who has strong opinions--all of them right--about her work and the business of medicine. She's tough, smart, and stubborn, so when nurses start disappearing she doesn't waste time tracking down the vicious killers whose bizarre and terrifying crimes pull her closer and closer to deadly danger. These serial killers are villains whose twisted minds keep you reading and keep you on the edge of your seat. Highly recommended.

A Nurse with Attitude

Gina Mazzio is a nurse who cares about her patients over the hospital bureaucrats. She's not popular and no one better mess with her because she makes Nurse Ratched look like Pollyanna. When women start disappearing around the hospital, Gina gets ticked, but after a bizarre phone call she gets worried. This character held my interest from the first moment I met her to the harrowing end of the story. With twist and turns the story goes in directions you don't expect. I gave it 5 stars because of its originality and fast pace, two things I love in a thriller.

A real page turner

I planned on reading this book in a few days but once I started I finished in one day. This is the Lambs best book so far as Gina's character keeps evolving. It is my kind of book. It has a good mixture of medicine, mystery and grit. I highly recommend it.

Sin and Bone

Bette Lamb gets better and better with each book! "Sin and Bone" is a real page turner. As a nurse I lived vicariously through the actions of Gina Mazzio, though I don't think I'm as brave as she. I look forward to more of Gina's adventures.

A spellbinding read

RN Gina Mazzio's wedding plans are changed with one phone call to the hospital. The police, hospital administrator, and her fiance dismiss it as a crank call. When Gina receives another call at her home from the same "sicko," she links it to a series of missing nurses that draws her into a dangerous trade of human body parts.
