Absolutely beautiful! Heartwarming and encouraging!

I was on the fence about these at first since they're not like any other oracle cards I have. So glad I got them! The writings are encouraging, thought-provoking and occasionally heartwarming, too. The artwork also helps to provide a calming vibe to any card pull. I will enjoy using them in the morning to give myself something to ponder throughout the day and to be mindful of my thought patterns. Unlike a lot of newly published Hay House oracle decks, the card stock isn't stiff and cardboard-y, so it's very easily to shuffle! Yes!

I think these would make a great gift for young or mature women (no males/masculine people on cards). There is no particular religious or spiritual practice language in the cards, so they are great for generic journal prompts or mindfulness exercises, too.

Generally disappointed

I would give this deck 3.5 stars for the pictures and self care messages alone. However, I took two stars away for the washed out colors of the deck. I don't know if the colors are supposed to be light and pastel but to me, it just looks faded like the cards have been sitting out in the sun for a year. The colors of the deck in the photos of this listing are much deeper and bolder but I don't know if it has been digitally enhanced to make the colors look brighter. The cardstock is nice and thick but I don't understand why the publisher Hay House or the author is skimping on the ink. Don't I pay enough for more ink to be added?

I also deducted a star for the annoying print of the author's website at the bottom of the back of each card. I understand the author wanting to publicize her website but this is an overkill. It's like reading a novel and all the even numbered pages include a print of the author's website at the bottom. Sheesh.

The messages overall are uplifting so I will keep this deck. But I don't recommend it if you don't have the author's first deck of self-care cards. It was published many years ago and I think you can get it second hand or brand new at a higher cost. Her old deck is far, far superior to this newer deck. The pictures in the old deck are fantastical and beautiful, the messages just as uplifting, and the colors brilliant. I've attached pics of cards from the new deck vs. the old so you can see for yourself. I recommend the old deck over the new.
