Awful!!!

This was the worst of the books! I fell hard for the first book and wanted to keep reading but the 3rd book didn't really catch my attention but I finished it! I am not even half way through Rapture and couldn't continue reading it was so bad. Everything is all over the place and so uninteresting. Wish I would have stopped at the 3rd book and not purchased this last one!!!!! :(

Great series, but a disappointing ending

*spoilers ahead*
This book was so great except for the ending, it had a great build up but ended a little flat for me. I also didn't like what happened to Daniel and Luce. I felt like Luce spent the whole series trying to understand who she was and her past, and when she finally figured it out, her memory was once again erased and she started yet another life. If felt like a step backward for their love. What I loved about these books was their love story and how they loved each other more and learned more from with each life. And to me the ending didn't fit their story and everything that happened in the previous books.

Book #4 of the Fallen Series

Probably one of my favorite YA series. This is the resolution to the series and Lauren Kate did a great job, as hard as it can be sometimes. If you were paying attention, you could see what would happen, but there was still some room for surprise. I really get into the Angels & Demons genre and loved this take with its mixture of "fact" (I put fact in quotations because it's still technically lore, but accepted lore) and fiction. this book follows Luce, Daniel, and gang as they try to put the pieces together to get back to where the angels originally Fell and we pick up a few unlikely friends along the way.

This had a 4 star rating until Chapter 17

I hate when you read an entire series and the ending is so disappointing. But not only was it disappointing, but kind of borderline weird, creepy, and maybe even blasphemous. I enjoyed the series up until the finale, then I wanted to throw my phone (b/c I was listening to the audiobook) against the wall. STUPID ending. This series is complicated in many ways. It has very dull, boring moments and drawn out plots. The heroine is literally left in the dark until the end of the series. But, It's been a while since I was that upset at the ending (probably since the Divergent series ending) As readers we truly escape into the world we are reading about and when the author does such a poor job of concluding the series, we are then left disgruntled and disappointed. SPOILERS*** Instead of Luce being an angel and old lover of Satan himself, how about we just have a romantic meeting of Daniel and Luce (which was still forbidden and not creepy) How about instead of God (a woman, mind you) getting angry and erasing all their memory and making them mortal...How about having God show mercy and love and allow them to make the decision to become mortal and keep their memories and friends. It wouldn't have hurt the storyline in any way and would have left your readers so much happier and then they might have recommended it to others...or even other books by this author. Readers beware.

IT ALL COMES DOWN TO THIS!!!!!!

BOOK FOUR OF THIS pseudo supernatural series of eternal love is arguably the best one yet. And that is as you would expect, given that this epic four part story all ends here. The obvious enemy to the Angels - and the world, as it turns out - was revealed at the end of book three. He has plans for world domination, as well as (more importantly) plans for the end to the romance between Luce and Daniel. The Cad.

And of course he must be stopped.

Enemies from preceding volumes have returned, some re-aligning themselves with the good guys, some staying neutral, and some retaining their old colours. Moreover, things have gone a little bit science fictioney in this volume, with seismic time shifts caused throughout the world every time Lucifer takes a step closer to his metaphorical destination. And new characters turn out to be so much more than they appear at first glance, which is a BRILLIANT way to keep the story going and keep the reader’s attention right to the very last page.

Alert readers may well have pre-conceived notions and theories as to how the story will turn out. I won’t declare mine here, as I will probably be so wrong and so far off the beat that it’s unintentionally funny. But the point is, after four books, I am still reading. I am still loving the action, the jokes, the fights, the battle scenes, the strong characterisation, and the plot twists.

But most importantly, i am still lovin’ the lovin’ on display between Lucinda and Daniel. I am worried for *his* future, as well, asking myself if a single act of plucking one of his divine feathers a metaphor for something much grander?

I guess I will have to keep reading to learn the truth. And so will you. I want to see the god guys (and their angels) beat the bad guys (and their angels) once more. And to see Big Bad Lucifer learn a lesson he won’t forget in a hurry. And it’s always good to see true love in action, anyway.

Four stars for the final volume of a consistently excellent and highly entertaining series.

BFN Greggorio!
