Description

"This is truly a grand finale of a book, mysteries from the very beginning of the series are put to rest and our heroes win in unexpected ways. Queen of Chaos delivers a beautiful ending that is perfect as it is but is left open enough for another story to seamlessly fit in." -- Bibliobibuli "I'm never a read-a-book-in-one-sitting kind of person, but I totally did it with Queen of Chaos. Then I hugged my Kindle and wanted to start the series all over again." -- Rattle the Stars "Kat Ross turned me into a puddle of emotions with her final book of the Fourth Element series! Action, betrayal, romance and demons conclude this story which can keep anyone captivated till the final page." -- Milky Way of Books "Fantasy lovers who enter this world will be wooed by its expansive world-building, soul-crushing romance, deeply layered characters, and page-turning twists." -- Flylef Reviews "Extremely engrossing and so fast-paced...A truly exceptional series." -- The InkedIn Book Blog "One of the best trilogies I've ever read. I will read anything by Kat Ross. Hats off to her for creating these wonderful characters and making us fall in love with them!" -- Cover to Cover Reviews "Fast paced, exciting and so brilliantly told, Queen of Chaos features an unexpected ending that leaves me ready for more of some of the minor characters and anticipating whatever Kat Ross does next!" -- The Rest Is Still Unwritten Hi there! I just wanted to give readers a heads up that a new five-book series called The Fourth Talisman will release in Fall 2017. The first book, Nocturne, continues the story of Darius and Nazafareen, among others. You can also follow Tijah and Achaemenes in my new Victorian gaslamp fantasy series. I dipped a toe into that world with The Daemoniac (think of it as a prequel of sorts), but the series really gets going in The Thirteenth Gate, which came out in June. I hope you'll come along for the ride! Kat Ross worked as a journalist at the United Nations for ten years before happily falling back into what she likes best: making stuff up. She's the author of the Fourth Element and Fourth Talisman fantasy series, the Gaslamp Gothic mysteries, and the dystopian thriller Some Fine Day. She loves myths, monsters and doomsday scenarios. Come visit her at katrossbooks.com! Read more

excellent conclusion to a great trilogy

What a tremendous conclusion (or maybe not--see below) to one of my favorite YA fantasy series of recent years! Set in an alt-Persian Empire filled with evil elemental creatures called Druj and the human and superhuman beings who fight them, this complexly plotted and lovingly detailed story will draw you in from the start. QUEEN OF CHAOS begins with one of my favorite characters from the first two books, Tijah, leading a ragtag team of daeva (essentially, genie) children through a desert wasteland that's been ravaged by the Druj forces unleashed by Queen Neblis; it then moves into the perspective of principal heroine Nazafareen, whose relationship with her own daeva, Darius, has been sundered and whose elemental power is growing at a dangerous and unpredictable rate. I loved the decision to explore Tijah's perspective; she was a character I was hoping to see more of all along. And I continue to be impressed by Ross's ability to blend history with mythology in entirely convincing ways. This concluding story is exciting, frightening, tragic at times, and, in the end, utterly captivating.

And from what the author's note at the end of the book says, it might not be the concluding story! I don't want to give away too much--read the book if you want to know all the details--but it appears that Tijah's tale, at least, will continue. And that's something to cheer about!

Best Trilogy!!!

The final book in ” The Fourth Element” trilogy and when I saw there was a blog tour for this book, I immediately signed up for the tour. This is one of the best trilogies I’ve ever read!!!! Each book cover in this trilogy looks absolutely STUNNING!!

Now for the book, if you haven’t read the first two books in this trilogy then WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?? GO READ IT!!! If you are up to date till the 2nd book then this is a spoiler free review for you guys.

As usual, the book starts where it was left off in the previous book with Darius, Nazafareen, Lysandros and Deliah on their way to the House-Behind-the-Veil to rescue Victor, save Balthazar, retrieve the fire which has the power to break/forge daeva cuffs and defeat queen Neblis.

We also get two new POVs in this book- Tijah and Lysandros. For me, Tijah was the star of this book. She along with her companions embark on a journey to free all the daevas who are kept as prisoners and to break their cuffs. Reading each Tijah’s chapter made me respect her even more.

Balthazar and Lysandros are my second favorite characters in this book. Balthazar has a grey personality where he is caught between the dark and the light. I could see more of his character development in this book. Whereas, Lysandros, the funny and mysterious one. He did make me smile with his witty comments. I would like to see more of him.

For our star couple, Darius and Nazafareen, they had less chapters in this book compared to the previous books but each of their chapters were precious to me and they will always be one of the best OTP!!

The word building in this book was awesome. I really loved the way Kat has described the Shadowlands with all its creatures and Behind the Veil. I could just imagine how that place would be in my mind.

There were some unexpected twists and turns that I did not see coming. One thing that I felt reading this book as new back story emerged was that this book is like a gift and when wrapping a gift, we bring each corners to tie it all together. This book is a gift which was neatly tied together by the author left for us to open and enjoy the contents. After coming to the end of the book, I was left with soo many questions but don’t worry, the author has assured us that all our questions will be answered and the daeva journey will continue!!!
