Super cute Coloring for relaxing!

Adorable Pusheen pictures. I wish the pages were perforated so they were easier to remove from the book. Also, it would be nice if the paper was thicker or if images were not double sided. We will probably only be able to color 50% of the pictures due to marker bleeding. However, gel pens also work well and do not bleed through. See my images for an example- I colored autumn Pusheen but summer Pusheen was sadly ruined.

Disappointed beyond belief

I *really* wanted to love this coloring book. After all, I love Pusheen and I love coloring. Sadly, this coloring book leaves MUCH to be desired.

I pre-ordered this book and when I received it, my first disappointment were the designs. Many of them are just outlined icons repeated in a pattern, but not always evenly distributed, which is surprising considering how easy graphics programs make that task. As a graphic designer the fact that the layouts are off is quite annoying when I'm coloring. However, if that was the only disappointing part of the designs, it would be OK.

Many of the designs not creative, have a LOT of blank space, and look like someone just threw this together to make money. My first thought while flipping through was "well, this was a cash cow." Clearly it worked as I bought two, one for myself and one for another Pusheen fan. Regardless, I got over it and started coloring. After a couple months, my annoyance and disappointment continued to grow.

This is a *coloring book* and it is important to note that designs are printed on the front and back of each page. This causes problems regardless of what coloring utensil you are using. Markers bleed through making the opposite design useless. The pages are thin, so this happens quickly and if you don't use a blotter, you'll ruin the page beneath. Pencils and will transfer when coloring on the other side, marking up the opposing page.

I wish ALL coloring books were spiral bound. Perforation would not hurt either. The binding on this can be folded without too much effort, but it is not ideal.

Overall, this I wish I had not bothered to buy this coloring book. As much as I love Pusheen, there are far better coloring books out there and Pusheen items.

Cute .. but flawed

Adorably cute coloring book with mostly large designs that are ideal for someone who isn't into super detailed coloring. The paper is a nice, thick paper with a slight texture to it that helps in laying down color. My biggest issue with this book is that because the images are printed on both sides of each page, there is a high potential for bleed-through and also shadows. I would not use markers in this book. Pencils go down nicely .. BUT .. if you use pressure to get a darker, more full color, you will have shadowing on the following pages from the black printing. It will probably help to place a plain sheet of paper behind the page you're working on, especially once you start getting a few pages filled with color. (The color will also shadow/bleed). Also, images are edge to edge, which can be problematic when trying to color the parts right on the edge of the sheet.

Pages are not perforated, so they won't tear easily from the book. If you want to save a particular image, you'll have to carefully cut it from the book.

ABSOLUTELY ADORABLE- terrible for markers

I actually specifically bought coloring book things because of this book. It's so utterly adorable and I was just wowing at myself in joy at all of the cute pictures.

However, I'm one of those people that like to color with markers vs colored pencils/crayons. When I started seeing the pages being double sided I grew incredibly worried. And to my fears- the pages bled the color. This means if I continue to use my markers, I have to choose one side of the page over the other since I'll destroy the other one with color bleed. This upset me so greatly that I almost dont want to color in it :

So cute, but be careful of bleed through or ink transfer

I agree with others about the shadow/bleed-through/transfer/registration issue. Be careful. I am using loose 67lb bristol sheets under the page I'm working on as well as the subsequent 2 pages to be safe. See first photo: the blank sheet I inserted shows the pressure transfer very cleary, but you can also see it on the backside of the page before I realized it was happening. I'm using a Crayola 50 color pencil set marketed at kids for ~$9. This book is otherwise SO cute. Love! I even started to color the inside title page (2nd photo). Looking forward to the next volume! Thank you for this publication. 12/11 - Decided to use an x-acto to cut out the pages and color separately. This works quite well.

Great for everyone who love Pusheen

So adorable! I preordered this coloring book and it arrived the morning of the release. While I ordered it for my Pusheen loving kids, I may need to get a second for myself.

There are a variety of larger simpler designs and smaller more intricate designs. Great for all ages of Pusheen lovers.

Only bummer is that the pages are not perforated so they are not easily torn out. Which is what I usually do for my kids to make them easier to color flat and they always want to display their masterpieces.

Warning! Will cause chuckles, smiles, and stress reduction!

This coloring book is one of my absolute favorites. The bold black lines make it easy to stay in the lines - which is still hard for me at 24 years old. Ha!

The designs are really cute and make me chuckle every time I flip the page. I don't even like cats, but I LOVE Pusheen! I bought this coloring book as a gift for my sister, and I ended up loving it so much that I just HAD to have one for myself. The paper is great quality and there are tons of designs in the book from simple to detailed. I just pick one that I know I will have time for and then I get to coloring! A definite stress relief.

Cute Coloring for Any Age

The book is really cute. Some pages are big, plain, but cute (just like Pusheen) but some are also a tad more detailed - not necessarily an 'adult' coloring book detailed as this book can be enjoyed at any age. People have been reporting bleeding with markers - I use crayons and colored pencils with this book and haven't had problems yet. Would highly recommend for any cat or Pusheen lover, people who like to color casually, and anyone who likes cute things (Pusheen poses frequently with sweets, hearts, flowers, and mystical creatures).

High quality and fun!

My daughter wanted this book desperately and I was hesitant because of the price. As a coloring book aficionado myself I know that the average price is usually about half what this one costs. Yes I am sure you pay for the Pusheen brand name a little in the total (as with everything else in life) but I can tell you that the rest of the difference in cost goes right into quality. I have had coloring books ranging from $2 to $39 so I know what nice looks like and this book is very nice!

The paper is super smooth, bright white, and very thick for starters. The ink outlines are solid and bold. The images are printed on the pages double sided which I personally really don’t like but in this book’s case the paper is so thick that the double sided print is not really an issue at all. The only thing I could see being an issue would be if you were to hang a drawing on the wall or something you would need to decide which image to display. Another great thing about this book is that the pages are perforated! This makes it super easy to pull a picture out to give as a gift, display, or even to tear out prior to coloring in order to allow your hands some more freedom to move. If you wanted to use paints even you absolutely could on this thick paper once you take the page out!

Aside from its quality physical properties, this book has a TON of pictures to choose from in all sorts of variations and styles! There are no duplicate images and something that satisfies just about every single different coloring craving you could have.

To be honest I did not see what all the fuss was about over this “Pusheen” character prior to buying this. To me it looked like a cat that a six year old drew or something I would doodle while in a meeting. The hype and the price tag surrounding the little kitty seemed silly to me. However my daughter loves Pusheen and I love my daughter so I purchased the book. For Mother’s Day my daughter gave me a page she colored from this book which I love dearly and put on my wall at work. It was so cute because I love mermaids and I have long red hair so I’m the picture she colored a mermaid Pusheen’s hair red! I added a photo to this review. Believe it or not this little kitty grew on me! Now each day when I look at Pusheen it brings a smile to me face. You have to admit he’s (she?) pretty darn cute!

Bottom line is this is an awesome book to get if you’re a fan of Pusheen or the person you’re gifting this to is! It’ll provide countless hours of fun and enjoyment and just that fact alone makes it worth it!

Super cute but flawed

As a collector I adore a Pusheen coloring book. I find the drawings inside super cute, however I am a stickler when it comes to esthetics. My book came with bent corners (please see pic 3), sticky substances on the front and back cover, the front cover doesn't cover the entire book (please see pic 2), and the book is warped (please see pic 1). Note the damage on the side of the cover in picture 2. I love Pusheen and would spend my money on her, but if I continue to get products like that. I don't know if I'll still be a customer.

Also the ink bleeds through the other page, so I'm testing it out by placing computer papery between each page.
