Description

I highly recommend with joy Tom Zuba's exquisite, perceptive, and profound celebration of life, Permission to Mourn. - Foreword by Gary Zukav, Author of The Seat of the Soul and Spiritual Partnership

Features & Highlights

  • The death of someone we love cracks us open inviting us to become the person we were born to be. This is the book Tom Zuba wishes he had read after his daughter Erin died. And after his wife Trici died. It's the book he wishes he'd been handed following his son Rory's death. But Tom had to live it. First. Before he could write it. For you. In the beginning, Tom did grief the old way. Repressing, denying, pretending, numbing and stuffing every feeling and every emotion that arose. He created pain on top of pain until he began searching for a new way. A new way to do grief. Once he gave himself permission to mourn, healing began. Along the way, Tom discovered that: * Grief is not the enemy. Grief can be one of our greatest teachers. * It's the stories we tell that determine whether or not we will heal. * We will always have a relationship with the people we love that have died. * We were not born to suffer. We were born to be radiant. There is a new way to do grief. Let Tom Zuba teach you how.

TOM, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

I so encourage anyone grieving to purchase Tom's book, because he has LIVED this....he KNOWS how it feels to mourn!! That is what caused me to search for him, and I am so thankful that I did. With help, I am FINALLY ready, after mourning the deaths of my brother, sister, niece, child, and my husband, in a short period of time.....to let go of the weight of carrying that grief around my neck. I want to move forward, I want to live again and help others live too. This book is an easy read....I'm re-reading it now, and have bought extras to pass out to others in need. Tom, you have my thanks for the rest of my life!!

EXCELLENT gift to give when you don't know what to ...

Tom is expert at capturing his emotions and feelings of the bereaved in this must-read book. He normalizes the grief experience and empowers people to do grief on their own terms! EXCELLENT gift to give when you don't know what to say or do to make things better!

Deciding to choose to live

I am admittedly only halfway through the book, but I was so moved by the first 20 pages that I had to come leave a review for this book. All of those feelings that scare you, that you secretly fear you've felt for too long, are too much, that make you crazy and abnormal and unable to cope, are printed in black and white. Raw, honest, real, right there in those pages. They're universal. We're not alone in the mad, shattered, disbelief and soul-hollowing pain of grief. Just the validation of those first few pages has triggered feelings and instead of suppressing and "manning up", I am going to sit with, experience, and learn to journey through. The only way out of the wilderness is through. I wish I could give a copy of this book to everyone I've ever known who had to choose to live through a loss.

Thank you Tom Zuba!!!!

If I could give this book 10 stars, I would. This man knows grief in the human experience of it. I see that grieving and healing is not what the experts say or think. All of them have failed me miserably so far, if not, exacerbated it. He shows the path as we experience it, understands it completely, walks with you through it. The book is VERY easy to read and simple, and hits right to the heart. I would recommend this book over any other grief book out there. He's showing us the path, the path we all walk but with words, as well as giving us a way to help ourselves heal. You will not stop missing or loving the one who has passed on, but you can navigate your way better through this. That's the best you can ask for. The human experience is difficult, and death is an experience we all will have to face.
