Kind of like "A Simple Plan" set in Japan

Sometimes portrayed as a feminist thriller, the book probably gets that label mostly because the main characters are women rather than men. There’s some discussion about the horribly unequal treatment of women in Japan but it seems more matter-of-fact than political commentary. Anyway, it’s a good thriller as a woman kills her abusive husband one night and gets three co-workers to help dispose of the body — and then things go wrong as the body is discovered. It’s kind of like “A Simple Plan” set in Japan. Be aware: There is some very graphic violence, including sexual. Bechdel test: Pass. Grade: A-

Audio narration is good, not spectacular.
