Not Her Gargoyle: Shifter Romance (Not This Series)

Received an ARC in exchange for an honest opinion.

This is book number 4 and I haven’t read the others in the series, but I’m a HUGE lover of gargoyles so I decided to take a chance. Now technically this is a stand alone but I’m guessing there would be a lot more enjoyment if you read these in order so you knew the history of the characters and (hopefully) have a better insight as to why they do the things they do. I was never really able to connect with Ruby. It starts out where we find out she slept with multiple wolves at a “wedding” recently and all I can think is “ew” instead of “you poor broken girl”. We also get recollections of her trading sex for rent and such in order to keep a roof over her sister’s head but we’re so removed from her and her past that I wasn’t left feeling anything but “meh”. I’m sure that’s not the reaction the author was going for. At least I could understand her choices but her blatant desperation to find love along with her jealousy with those few around her that had found their mate was just another Ruby hurdle I couldn’t seem to overcome.
Nick on the other hand I liked. He was funny and charming. I did find it unusual that in this world the gargoyles have only one form and it took a witch for him to shift. I wonder if that means his brothers won’t be getting their own books....
I think I have spent too many years reading erotica because the euphemisms used during the sexy times made my eyes roll more than once. I’m guessing those who are tired of the dirty words will find this more tolerable....I just ended up skimming the sex.
The ending was a bit unfinished for me. I’m kinda mad about how Armand was left as was Norm, although I’m guessing Norm might make an appearance in the next book....I don’t want to give any real spoilers but I don’t think Ruby would have handled the end the way she did either.
If you like gargoyles this is an easy and (mostly) enjoyable read.

Such a fun book! You will love it!

The Not Her series are fun reads and this book did not disappoint. The characters are not perfect but that is part of the appeal. I love Nick’s humor and Ruby’s spunk and loyalty. The story moves along nicely and makes you look forward to the next book. A fun light adventure for your pleasure.

Wow this was a great book. I wished I would have read the first three so I knew a little more about the characters but I didn’t really need to. This book is great on its own. I am glad that Ruby finally found her soul mate like she was looking for and that everything is working out for Nick and Ruby. Great great book

Not Her Gargoyle is the fourth book in the Not This Series, a romantic paranormal comedy full of self acceptance and love. Ruby works a dead end job, is about to be evicted, and has never had a good relationship, which is rubbed in her face as her sister found love. When Nick crash lands into her life, they decide to be roommates, cohorts in crime, coworkers, and eventually lovers. But when some of their crimes catch up to them in the form of a vengeful witch, can Ruby and Nick band together to save his wings and freedom?

Talk about a laugh out loud book, with amazing characters that make you cheer for and connect to. Ruby was almost lost without her sister around, but she’s always been so resourceful, strong, and independent. Nick was as free as could be, but loved spending time with Ruby and only wanted to be better for her. I loved what the charm and its magic could do, and I loved all of the obstacles that Ruby and Nick had to jump through to find their happy ending. I think one of my favorite parts about this book was all of the sibling love! Ruby had Trixie and Nick had his brothers, and both would do anything for those they love. There’s so much loyalty and sacrifice all in the name of love, for the siblings and for Ruby and Nick. There’s quite a few things that happen in this book and I’m so excited to see the repercussions in the future books, just as I was so excited to see some familiar characters and events from previous books in the series. While this book could definitely stand alone, this series is very interconnected, and you’d get the best enjoyment out of reading them in order - plus they’re hilarious! I loved this book and can’t wait to for the next to come out!

I love this series from the first book Not His Dragon to this story Not His Gargoyle. The romance of Nick and Ruby was a blast to read. I was hooked from the first page. Since Nick has brothers hopefully there will be more stories from this series. The ending was a wonderful surprise. If you have not read this series I recommend you give it a try you will not be disappointed. I voluntarily reviewed and received an ARC of this story .

Ruby has had a hard life, she is a proud woman who doesn’t like to ask for help. And don’t even start on the men she’s dated. Nick is a gargoyle who’s been hanging around with local dragon Eoin. And since meeting each other neither have been able to get the other off their minds.

Such a lovely story. It really hits you in the feels in certain sections. There’s plenty of heat and attraction and don’t forget the occasional giggle. These two get up to all sorts of mischief together. I really enjoyed reading about ruby and nick even though the ending was bitter sweet.

What a terrific read! Ms. Nicholas expands on her shifter world in New Port with more delightful characters. Ruby and Nick could be any other couple, falling in love and trying to make it in the world. Except Nick is a gargoyle in an area where gargoyles are not the norm. I fell in love with Nick and Ruby who are good people who wind up doing questionable things trying to make it in the world. As with Not Her Dragon, Gargoyle has plenty of humor, romance and action making this a page turning read for fans of paranormal romance

I really enjoyed this story. It was fast paced, humorous, with a pretty good romantic story line.

This is the book I started with in this series since I haven't really read any gargoyle books and was very pleased. Ruby's just wanting to get out of her neighborhood, maybe find a guy she wants to keep since that's never happened. Nick needs to stay out of sight of the dragons his brothers saved him from and also stay out of trouble. The two together are a pair who just work. This is a fun story that's also sweet. You can't help but root this couple on to find their HEA.
