This mutual love prompted them to put their English degrees to good use by penning their own. The product was Pieces of Perfect, their debut novel. Fun and steamy, average struggling young adult friends to more story - Fantastic
If your looking for a synopsis you've come to the wrong review. I don't want to write a book report review, instead, I want to give you my honest opinion of the book in general.
I connected to the main character, Blake, her story is deep and layered. This story carefully weaves the details into her development and journey. Her development filled me with hope and joy.
Gavin, "the roommate", is just as fascinating for many other reasons. WIthout is strength and dedication Blake's journey would be meaningless.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and was left with a touch of the usual book hangover questions. "I wonder how they are doing now? What is going to happen with.... ? Will they.....?" You know all those questions that come from falling in love with two people in the matter of hours and not wanting to kick them out of your life just yet.
Is this a fantastic stand alone book? -- YES
Do I personally wish there were more? -- YES, not in this particular piece of their story (which was told beautifully) but I think that there could easily be a follow up since this story covers a time frame of a few glorious months. They are young and have so much life to live yet!
Highly recommended and fun read.

Blake ♥️ Gavin another great Misadventure
Another amazing book from the epic Misadventures series. In the Misadventures with My Roommate the duo writing team of Elizabeth Hayley gives us a story not only with heat but deals with traumas from the past. Blake is a girl who speaks her mind, some find her weird especially her roommates. Gavin is a college drop out try to accomplish his dreams even if his parents don't believe in them. When these two met its instant sparks both from physical attraction but also personalities. He needs a place, she needs a roommate..... what could happen? This shows what trauma does to a soul but also how love can change you and make you a better person and finally be the real you. This was my first read of this amazing duo and I can't wait to see what amazing adventures and stories they have in them. Misadventures series has open my eyes and my library to so many amazing authors and I can't wait for the next Misadventures.

Square Peg in a Round Hole
This best describes Blake's personality. She goes with the flow in her life and never sets her expectations high. She is herself, take her or leave her. She has no filter and blurts everything out she is feeling and thinking at the time. She had had a rough beginning in her life and therefore she holds her feelings close to her chest and does not let anyone sneak into her exterior walls she has built up for herself.
That is, until Gavin. Easy going Gavin. He sees right through Blake's façade. They start as work friends, but as time goes by it develops into something more. Gavin finds her Ball of Fire personality refreshing and unlike any other woman he has met. Blake makes him laugh with her quirkiness. Their chemistry is evident from the first day they meet, but coming to common ground to own up to how they both really feel for each other is a challenge.
I found their story fresh and fun. When they end up sharing an apartment together, we really do find out they are an odd couple, but it works. As their story unfolds, I was finding myself routing for the two of them to find their HEA.

Loved Blake's take on life
Another great story for this series. It was so entertaining and hot between Blake and Gavin that you just don't know what to expect next. Blake Monroe has had a tough life growing up and is a little different from most people that she takes some getting use to. Blake's humor and lack of filter on things are just so funny and you never know what she will say!
Blake meets Gavin Gibson at the coffee house that they both work. She immediately lets him know she's interested in him and Gavin finds her honesty and humor entertaining. When Blake finds out that Gavin needs to look for another place to live, she offers him a place in her apartment since her roommate abruptly moves out (she couldn't put up with Blake's quirkiness anymore). Gavin and Blake sharing an apartment together is entertaining to see because Blake isn't shy about being interested in Gavin for sex! She finally gets his attention when she straight out tells him what she wants. Blake is not shy about what she wants and she just wants a physical relationship with Gavin since she knows that eventually everyone gets tired of her and her outlook on life. Things between Blake and Gavin are great but then they started getting personal and telling each other about their past that they've never told any one else. Blake starts to freak out and Gavin knows he's falling for Blake but doesn't want to lose her. Each of them needs to work through their issues and figure out what they want from each other.
Blake's openness is so entertaining to read about and makes the story so funny and romantic. Gavin's acceptance of Blake for who she is is refreshing since most people probably couldn't handle someone like Blake for a long period of time. They are each accepting of the other and that's a great for a lasting relationship!

#HYSTERICALLYFUNNY
Blake Monroe is a different kind of woman, but one thing she doesn't do, is dwell on the bad things in life. With her no filter self, it makes it hard to deal with her, so she keeps losing roommates. Just when she decided that maybe having a male roommate would be better, the hot guy she works with, Gavin Gibson needs a place to move in to. He's been cut off by his family because he doesn't want to be what they want him to be, and with his current roommate using their money for drugs, he has to find a place immediately, so he moves in with Blake. He can see past her quirks that chase most people off, but they have a chemistry that he's trying to resist. But those kind of sparks won't be ignored, so they take a new journey, which has him breaking down Blake's walls about relationships, bit by bit, as feelings grow. I didn't mean to say so much, but this story is highly original with a lot of things going on so it was hard to say much less. First of all, Blake's no filter self had me rolling throughout this story, as she was crazy & would own it. Which made just about every conversation she had hysterical in my opinion. And Gavin pretty much loved every minute of her, as he thought her being such a straight shooter was refreshing. So their chemistry was insanely hot, which led to lighting the sheets (or anything else) on fire, when ignited, during sexy times! The cast of secondaries, like Blake's best friend, added more humor to an already hilarious story. And yes, there were angst filled moments to add to this goodness, it's just that the humor was the best, so I couldn't stop talking about it. This is the first time that I read anything by this fantastic duo, and it won't be the last, as they meshed perfectly together, and I didn't know it was two authors until it was time to write this review, as there were no breaks in the story. So I CANNOT wait to read more by these two talented & original women, and HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

Misadventures With My Roommate
**received an ARC in exchange for an honest review**
4.5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
The Misadventures series continues with two unlikely people becoming roommates and together they might find more than that.
I loved Blake in this book. She had no filter and said exactly what she was thinking. Even though she has been through some tough times she is so strong and not willing to take any crap. The dynamic between her and Gavin is great. He loves her quirks and isn’t offended by her when she speaks her mind. They both are able to lean on each other and take a chance on something real for once.

Misadventures with my roommate is part of the misadventures series but all books can be read as standalones!
I haven't herd of this author before, so I haven't read her obviously till now. I loved the blurb, and when I started this one it took me a long whiles to get in to the story, but if you love friends to lovers trope, you will love this one! its a quick easy read with some great sexy times, but not only that the author done really good at making you feel them feels!

I really enjoyed spending a couple of days with Blake and Gavin ...
This was my first book by Elizabeth Hayley but not my first read from the Misadventures series. I really enjoyed spending a couple of days with Blake and Gavin as they got to know each other. Blake is a new employee at the coffee shop where Gavin works. She promptly tells him he is hot and his feels the same about her. Blake calls herself eccentric and freely admits she has no brain to mouth filter. Neither one of them is looking for a relationship just a good time. When Gavin becomes homeless a couple of days after they meet Blake offers to let him move into the room her roommate just evacuated. This is the start of their misadventures.
I liked that this author's writing style is unique for this series. Her characters are are a little "broken" so not only do we get the adventures as these 2 get to know each other but we get to learn about their pasts as they share with each other. I recommend this book and will be looking for more by Elizabeth Hayley

Really enjoyed this one
I really liked this one. Blake was a bit quirky but as a long time reader of Elizabeth Hayley, I get it and it worked for me. I wish this had went in to more depth with her backstory because I felt it was only surface level. I really liked Gavin. He was sweet and a hard worker and I love that Blake gave him that extra push to realize his dreams. I loved these two together. Blake wanted him from the start but she is so afraid of attachments due to her upbringing. I don't think either of these characters were really looking for anything more than sex but they brought the best out of each other and I really liked that. I loved that there was no over the top drama or anything just a cute funny romance. 3.5 stars

Another hit in the Misadventures Series!
First off, I loved Blake’s character, she was so uncensored, it made me laugh every time she had something to say, because you never knew what would come out of her mouth.
Blake and Gavin come from two separate worlds. After meeting at their job, Blake comes to find out that her co-worker needs a new place to live. And she has the perfect solution-move in with her now that her current roommate has left the building!
Gavin finds Blake to be adorable, yet quirky. The more he finds out about her, the more he finds himself falling for his roommate.
Blake has a lot of issues from her past, Gavin has issues with his family’s approval of him. But in the end, the issues don’t come to matter to Blake and Gavin when they find they have one thing in common–a love for each other.
This was another great book in the Misadventures series, and I can’t wait for more!
