Fiction has to be believable

I could not finish this book. Suspension of disbelief impossible due to way over the top technology. Could not identify with any of the characters. Did not care what happened to any them. IMHO a waste of money and time.

Anither Disturbin/Hopeful Speculative Fiction from Douglas Richards

As always Douglas Richards provides a trill ride through a future that is disturbingly possible, technologically feasible, an alarmingly near-future potential that is only made hopeful by the heroic acts of some truly good people that, even with some deep flaws, continue to amaze in their adherence to doing the "right thing". As always with his work, Douglas has left me more aware of what is happening now, more concerned with the pace of technology, and a somewhat Pollyanna-like realization that their still are good people and they need to be supported and regaled. Please support whatever Nicks, Megans, Justins Mikes, and Alexes out there that may be waiting to serve. And, of course, the real Malalas of the world.

Timely Sci Fi Magic!

Another great Nick Hall book. I immensely enjoyed all three books. Doug's writing is very easy to consume. I read this one in two sessions - couldn't put it down. This one made me laugh the most of the three. It has all the classic elements sci-fi fans love, plus some twists to keep you guessing.

They don't have to be read in order, but I still recommend reading them in order for a little extra immersion in the story.

Continues to captivate and keep you guessing.

The third installment in this series and you will not be disappointed in this either. There are twists and turns galore, betrayals, alliances you would not expect and an outcome you will not guess (unless you spoil it for yourself and read the last first) The characters come alive and you can not help but let yourself become addicted to them including the "villains"!

Once the action starts it does not stop and you have to keep reading and not put it down until the end. This is the last book with Nick Hall as the central character, but one can not but hope that there will be a fourth book that will bring it all back together. What say you Mr. Richards?

Purchased all three books and I loved each book

Purchased all three books and I loved each book. I haven't red any books for years (30 years) since my college days, but once I discovered his book, I was hooked and It made reading fun again. It is a great easy reading SF.

"As you know, Bob..."

"As you know, Bob..." is well known to writers and students of writing. It is that much criticised mechanism by which the reader is informed of the events that preceded this book by having one character fill another character in, via dialog. It is the generally artificial way in which this unfolds that is most annoying and unbelievable. The author of Mind Wars is guilty of wasting more than 10 Kindle pages having one character do just this. It is the sort of detail that should be reserved for a preface. By saying this is a standalone novel and then finding it necessary to fill us in on what preceded this story makes it clear that without the knowledge of earlier events, some of this book will not make sense. So please, make us read each book in the series, or read a PREFACE, but don't detract from an otherwise good story by using this poor technique.

Havings said this, the storyline is as enjoyable as the preceding books in this series. Highly recommended.

Another winner!!

Another fantastic novel by Doug Richards! He is one of the few authors I will automatically buy. I always read his books in one sitting, and have never been disappointed. Highly recommended.

Once again Douglas writes a story that keeps me on my seat. This book had me wrapped into the story in more than one way :)

Another Richards Home Run

I have read every Nick Hall novel, but Mind War is perhaps the best yet. Richards is absolutely brilliant, creating new and inventive ways to thrill the reader with exciting twists and seemingly impossible odds for our heroes. I have loved the Nick Hall series from the beginning, thinking it impossible Richards can outdo himself, but he consistently steps up the brilliance in everything he does. Read them all!!! You will not be disappointed.

Another great read

Just finished Mind War and really enjoyed it. The Nick Hall series is excellent and this one is as good as the rest. Doug keeps identifying new situations and twists for the characters and technology.
