Every dog family should have this book!

I teach family dog classes. I also help shelter volunteers with some of the training skills to "re-educate" dogs in shelters so that they may become more adoptable. "Love Has No Age Limit" is a treasure! Dr. McConnell and Dr. London have written a very concise guide to preparing for and caring for a newly adopted dog. Whether you're thinking about adopting or all your dogs are rescue dogs, every dog owning family can benifit from having this book available! Buy it! Your canine buddy will thank you!

READ THIS BEFORE YOU ADOPT A DOG!

This incredibly informative, thoughtful, and readable in a day book should be REQUIRED for anyone who is going to adopt a new dog; heck, you should read it if you're going to live with dogs at all, just like all of Patrica McConnell's books.
It is warm, funny, and compassionate to both dogs and new owners, and is also based on years of professional work with dogs by both writers. It covers everything from preparation to resource guarding, feeding, housetraining, introducing to other dogs/cats, and so much more. I really believe that if everyone who is bringing a new dog into their home were handed a copy of this book along with the dog, the return rate to rescues and shelters would drop significantly.

Must read for anyone who has adopted or rescued a dog!

This book is indispensable for any rescue dog owner! Trisha writes with warmth, and a depth of knowledge and experience. The advice she gives is very practical. There is so much to learn and so much valuable insight in this one small booklet. There are so many things that dog owners might take for granted after bringing a dog into a new home. Don't miss this helpful and well-written book!

Abby, 3 Year Old Bundle of Love

Having been a cat owner and cat Mom for 27 years, I was nervous about adopting a dog. This book is a treasure! Not only is it full of inspiration to adopt a rescue dog, but it is quite full of tips and dos and don'ts. Yes, I adopted a very loving, playful and smart poodle terrier mix, 3 years old. I am still recalling tips from this book as Abby and I learn how to trust and love each other. It's working! I highly recommend this book!

good starter if bringing home an adult dog

Most of Patricia McConnell's books are short and to the point. Great books for getting some concise info to get you started. In this case, the focus is on bringing home a dog who is past puppyhood, and getting you through that initial period of bringing the dog home and getting settled in. Highly recommended if you are new to this or are bringing in a dog that might have more issues than you are accustomed to.

A must-read for anyone adopting a dog

This was required reading when I was adopting my greyhound. It's a good book and I think a must-read for anyone adopting a dog. I've read a lot of dog books over the years and this was just a good reminder of how to prepare for your new dog and how to start your new life with him on the right foot.

A must read before bringing home a new dog!

I just adopted my first dog, a 3 year old Border Collie mix. A local trainer recommend this book to me before I brought my dog home and I am so glad she did! It had lots of great advice for a first time dog owner. I had dogs when I was a kid but this is the first time that the dog has completely been my responsibility. This is a must read for anyone bringing home a new dog!
