My seven year old daughter got hooked on Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew when she received a box set that included the first five books in the series; [[ASIN:1481414720 The Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew Collection: Sleepover Sleuths; Scream for Ice Cream; Pony Problems; The Cinderella Ballet Mystery; Case of the Sneaky Snowman]]. Being a huge fan of the original Nancy Drew series, I was thrilled to see that Nancy had been reinvented as a third grader, with her best buds, Bess and George. In this story, Nancy, Bess, and George are in Hollywood, and get parts as extras in a movie. When the star of the show, Fluffington (a cat) goes missing, the Clue Crew springs into action to discover the whereabouts of the famous feline.

The book is well written and includes several nicely illustrated pictures. The recommended age range is 6-9; Grades 1-4. My daughter is in Second Grade and is able to independently read this books (I should probably mention that she currently reads at a 4th Grade level.) When she first received the box set for her 7th birthday last summer, my husband and I would take turns reading the books with her. Now that she is in Second Grade she is able to read them independently. As a parent, I highly recommend the Nancy Drew and the Clue Crew books; they are interesting, thought provoking, entertaining, and are age appropriate.
