Another great addition to the series

This is book 6 in the Amish Candy Shop Mystery series. I love all of the cozies created by Amanda Flower, she writes several, different series, but this one just might be my fav. I’ve always been drawn to books that include the Amish and their way of life. I love how this series weaves that part in with our English protagonist and residents. Harvest and the candy shop are great backdrops. I always enjoy seeing what confections Swissmen Sweets is working on and as the series has progressed the author has done a fantastic job of including growth in both her main and side characters.

The mystery was so well done in this book. I was stumped until the very end because there were way too many plausible suspects. The fact that it centered around Emily, her squabbling siblings and the first child she gave up was extra intriguing. I loved sweet Hannah and watching the characters interact with her hearing impairment. Lois definitely melted my heart during a few of those moments. It was also interesting to spend a few scenes in a neighboring village - which had it fair share of peculiar characters. I wouldn’t be sad if the candle lady showed up in future stories.

We also see one romance take a major leap, one romance take a shocking step back and those Esh siblings finally have to answer for their stubborn behavior. Of course Jethro, the pig, made some fun appearances too. I definitely look forward to continuing the series and seeing how some of these storylines unfold.

Love this series!

I have purchased and red the entire series up to what is in print as of May 2022 and am impatiently awaiting the next installment coming in August of 2022. I've shared the books with my parents and even they can't wait for the next book!

The only drawback are the extra stories that are e-reader only. Neither my parents or I own (or want!) an e-reader. While the main series does not depend on these stories it is irritating that I can't read them as they are alluded to in subsequent books.

Another great addition to the series

It's been a year since I read a book in this series, to be fair, this one came out this April and I had to wait for my daughter to read it and get it too me, now I will pass it on to her mother-in-law. It seemed like it was just yesterday that I read the last one though as the characters were all still there and what a story this was, couldn't put it down. I really enjoy this series.

Just an FYI, there is a book coming out anytime now, I think, "Amish Candy Shop Holidays", which will be the three short stories ("Criminally Cocoa"1.5, "Botched Butterscotch" 2.5 and "Candy Cane Crime" 3.5 that you could only get as an e-book before). Yes, my daughter has it ordered so we can all read it too.

Another wonderful Amish Candy Shop mystery

The latest installment in Amanda Flowers’ Amish Candy Shop series is a winner! Reading the book is like visiting with old friends, and the stories around the lives of the characters only enhance the well-crafted mystery. I did not see the ending coming, and I look forward to seeing what comes next for Bailey and her Amish Candy Store friends.
