Great book but the series finale will DISAPPOINT YOU - don't waste your time!

I used to consider Karen Kingsbury a good author, but I just finished the Bailey Flanigan series and feel that I can no longer trust KK to bring readers what they want. My advice is that even though this book is good, as are the 2nd and 3rd ones, don't waste your time because the characters you find yourself pulling for the entire series don't get the happy ending that you are strung along through 4 books waiting for. I feel so very cheated. I read the entire Baxter series, which is where Bailey Flanigan was introduced, then read 4 more books about her only to be completely disappointed in the end. I wish I had never wasted my time or invested my heart. Fiction is supposed to uplift and bring happiness, not just more of the same sad endings you can get in real life. Sadly, I now have to say I'm an ex-fan.

Karen continues with excellence!

Karen Kingsbury continues the Baxter saga with the beginning of the Bailey Flanigan series. LEAVING is an excellent story that grabs the reader from page one, and never lets go. Even though it is possible to begin with this book, it would be most beneficial to have read all of the books that deal with the Baxter family to fully grasp many of the background characters/details that Kingsbury brings into this novel. Karen does a superb job of allowing the reader to see the growth of the faith of her characters - while always challenging mine to a deeper level too. For those of you who have read all of the Baxter family books, you have most likely already read this one. If you've never read any of them, start at the beginning and you won't be disappointed. Looking forward to reading the last three of this series.
