I became a fan of Jodi Ellen Malpas with her novel This Man. She has never disappointed me. In Leave Me Breathless Ryan Willis is a former M15 and then private protection. He is burnt out and can't do it anymore so he returns home. Home is a little cabin in the woods where he and his ten year old daughter live when he has her. He thrives on the quiet that surrounds him. The only noise is that made by the birds or the little critters scampering around.

Ryan meets Hannah Bright and is intrigued by her. She is different and but she has sad eyes. She has left behind a very bad relationship. She is also skittish and jumpy at times. He knows that if he presses her for information she could turn her back on him. They grow much closer and Ryan falls in love with her but what is she hiding? Ryan treads lightly but decides to use his contacts and see if he learns anything. There were times I held my breath as I was reading wondering what is going to happen next. This is very deserving of all five stars and then some.

At Least We don't Have a Toxic Love Interest

I’ve been going back and forth about my thoughts and about what to rate this book. While it was better for me than any other book that JEM has written, I didn’t really find anything special about it.

This was a typical story of a woman with a secret and she falls for a man in the town she’s hiding in. While there was the suspense and the angst between the couple, I was still waiting for the story to actually suck me into it. Most of this book was Hannah hiding secrets and the day to day building romance between her and Ryan.

I must say that Ryan is the best love interest that I’ve read from her. Don’t even get me started on Jesse Ward. Ryan was considerate of Hannah, and not just that. He was patient, caring, and was more concerned for her than himself. I love that he was willing to give so much of himself even though he knew she was hiding things.

All in all, I just feel very meh about it. It’s a book that didn't really move me at all and is very forgettable. However, it was the first book I read from here where I didn’t cringe while reading and wasn’t full of toxic love interests.

Slow building..

Jodi Ellen Malpas is one of my favorite authors! And not surprisingly I did really enjoy and love this book. I like the hold up and the drag out with the blooming and budding relationship with the FMC and MMC. Watching their story come together was very lovely. This book isn’t too spicy which I was surprisingly ok with and was just what was needed in-between the other books that I was reading. I really was looking forward to their being a second book to see the story unfold and continue for the FMC and the MMC, so that is a little let down.

If you have not read Author Jodi Ellen Malpas books yet you are seriously missing out! This book was just delicious and I just lost myself in every page swooning and panting with every word! Read it cover to cover and just fell into love and lust and it makes you burn with need and want. That takes serious skill. And this author has it in spades! Shes a literally goddess bringing us book after book and characters to love and hate and you will never be disappointed in any of these books and this one was just as well written and yummy as the rest!! Keep them coming I seriously cant get enough!! Great characters, great storyline, great book. You cant go wrong buying it. My advice if you're new just get them all because you will want them. You will fall in love with the men and drool so get the tissues ready haha and make sure you have zero plans because you are gonna not want to put it down!

Another disappointment from JEM

This book was a huge disappointment to me. The first book 'The Protector' was a letdown also and I thought this one would have been much better and up to par to the This Man series but sadly it is not so. The plot was boring, there is not enough romance and explosive sex, and it was so monotonous, I struggled to finish it. A lot of times I sleep away whilst reading it.

It will leave you breathless

Leave Me Breathless is a stand alone novel written by Jodi Ellen Malpas. There is a tiny connection to The protector, but you don't have to read that book in order to understand what is going on in this one.

I wasn't expecting Ryan to have a daughter to be honest and I was a little thrown off at first, but she won me over. I still find her a little too mature for someone her age, and sometimes she seemed like the only voice of reason. There is some drama with her mother, but for most of the book things are good.

I liked the small town setting and how Ryan and Hannah met and started becoming something more. The secrets Hannah was keeping were slowly revealed to us and they weren't pretty. If they were they wouldn't be a secret, right? They were told in an usual way, but I liked it.

The suspense was good and so was the romance. The pace was also good and I enjoyed the book a lot.

LMB by Jodi Ellen Malpas. When you liked TF - one of my favorite reads by this author -, then you're gonna love this book too.
It's a story of heartbreak, pettiness, second chances, danger and drama put in a fantastic read by an outstanding author.
Meet Ryan. He's an ex-ish MI5 man, who's working in a security agancy. He's pretty private and I learned about his personal life on the way through the book . And there are a few big surprises to discover, promise.
He's heading home to his small town to be with his favorite person. What he doesn't expect is to discover there's a new art shop in town with an irresistible owner.
Hannah Bright is new in town, art shop owner and she fears her own shadow, with reason. She hides from her past and her past mistakes.
LMB is not a damsel in distess romance. It's a beautifully thought out, beautifully told and beautifully written story with a heroine who's strong when it counts and a hero who's worthy to be the next book boyfriend, a bit mangled and battered but not broken. Strong, alpha type, and sweet at the same time.

A classic JEM novel!

Another JEM hero to swoon over? Count me in!

I was hooked on Ryan from the start! Is there anything better than an alpha, protective guy who is also a big softie underneath all that gruff, hard exterior? I think not. He’s got this double-edged personality. Yes, he’s all-male, tough, intelligent, and protective. But he’s also charming, sexy, fun, and flirty. And there’s a whole other side to him that will make you swoon.

Hannah is a mystery. On the surface, she’s light, care-free, and easy-going. She can also be clumsy and awkward, but underneath her laid-back facade, she’s plagued by her past. She’s so kind and fun, but she’s also scared and skittish. She's never truly able to relax and let down her guard, and for good reason.

Neither one of these two are looking for anything serious, but neither one can really resist the other. Their attraction is mutual and their chemistry is on fire. With plenty of suspense, plenty of heat, and quite a few laughs, this is another classic JEM novel. You’re easily going to fall in love with this couple. A definite five-star read!
