The creepy 1st cousin concept should have been left out ....

As an avid mafia romance reader and huge fan of “Falling for Her”, book 3 of Ms. Owens K2 Team series, I had high hopes for “Jack of Hearts”, since it has a criminal mob backdrop. Unfortunately, it fell along the same lines as the second only book I’ve read by this author, “Lost in Her”. The on and off again monotonic, mechanical writing and poor choice of plot development/sub-characters kept me from enjoying it, folks. Throw in the creepy concept of the heroine’s first cousin, Ramon, having the hots for her to the point she feared him sneaking into her room at night, and I just didn’t see the point of continuing.

There are some other items I could point out, but I don’t see the point in wasting your time or more of mine. At 30% into it, I felt I had endured enough and called it quits. I just don’t think this book was particularly well-written, my fellow romance book-loving friends. Here’s to hoping others feel differently. I wish the author all the best with this series. It was an intriguing concept, but I needed a better delivery of this romantic tale.

Loved the three books in this series - FBI undercover - without spoiling - hints of a possible fourth (I hope) with a new character making a discovery and the three brothers also searching - light romance, but these guys are definitely what you wished lived next door.

Another great read from Sandra Owena

I loved this book as I have loved all of Sandra Owens' books. But for some reason this one held a special place in my heart. You have to live q man who knows what he wants and goes after it. One who isn't afraid to say he made a mistake in how he handled a situation. Sandra's writing is so compelling G that it aucks me in making it difficult to put the book down. The only problem is waiting for the next one.

The first in the new series Aces and Eights by Ms. Owen. I have previously read her K2 series which were great. Alex is a undercover FBI agent trying to break into the Alonzo criminal family organization. While hanging out with the son Ramon Alonzo he comes across Ramon's beautiful cousin Maddie who Ramon has a sick obsession with. He defends her against Ramon coming on to her. Although he knows it is not fair to get involved with her being he is investigating her family he is drawn to her and starts a relationship. Alex has two older brothers Nate and Court( I am sure books of there's will be coming soon) and they all own a biker bar which is a form of cover for their FBI work. This book had it all some mystery action and of course romance. I was giving an ARC by netgalley.
