If you truly want to expand your vocabulary, this is the book to get. It's not just about remembering a bunch of words. It's about learning Greek and Latin roots so that with that knowledge and with an understanding of the context, you can often figure what a word means without running to a dictionary.
It was a required text when I taught interpreting.
I will warn you that the drills are boring. Do them anyway. Did that sound like a teacher?

This is a concise and.comprehensive vocabulary development program in a fun-to-use format. I had used it in the past to prepare students for the NJSAT examinations and have notes from students saying how much it helped them. I purchased this for a second grade grandnephew who loves words.
