Great Book, Daughter Loves It... But...

Really great story line, the story rhymes well and makes sense to my 3 year old... But the grammatical/punctuation errors really bother me and confuse me. Why were shift signs ("") used instead of quotations for almost everything that everyone said? Extremely confusing for me as an adult to read and I am hesitant to let my kiddos practice reading with this book once they are old enough to due to all the grammatical/punctuation errors. Other than that it is a really good book with a great story line and point, my daughter loves this book and asks me to read it every night.

Cute, but was hoping for more

Really cute idea with animals, but it basically outlined 3 very common ways to help kids calm down that we’ve already tried (breathing, counting, movement). Maybe better for younger kids. I was hoping for more for our 5 year old. Maybe if the story included more practical scenarios that upset kids, like being asked to clean their room or being told no to something realistic, instead of the boy being mad because he can’t take home a zoo animal. It just wasn’t relatable enough to help our child. It’s difficult trying to select these kinds of books online.

Terrible writing

The writing in this book makes no sense, I’m not understanding all these great reviews. The story often derails and switches to the point where I would go back a page and re read to make sure I didn’t miss something.. very bizarre rhyming words and incorrect punctuation too, almost as if a child wrote it. Beautiful illustrations but the writing absolutely missed the mark.

Just okay

The pictures were cute but the story didn't make much sense and ended with the kid getting a new toy.

Good at sharing ways for children to learn how to calm down. Deep breaths are the best!

A good book for sharing with children how we can't always get what we want. Then how to control anger from being told "NO" and way to help us calm down. Deep breaths are the best. :)

Good book

It’s a good book that speaks in anger. Not sure about how it takes the child through diffusing/understanding that emotion though. The whole gift thing bothers some people, but it’s a book, that does t depict my actions as a parent.
