Does a good job

Like the title implies, it's a lot of information to digest. Your tendency, unfortunately will be to skip over the boring parts and go for the meat; don't! Take your time and listen to the man and your results will be better than you thought possible. All artwork is a marathon; including computer art. There is no instantaneous gratification in the art world. Those that master an art form immediately are special and they are such a small portion of the population that they tend to minimize their abilities. You need to practice all forms to find your own style and this book can help you do that.

Perfect for the beginner

If you are an absolute beginner like me, then this book is perfect for you. Chris starts you off with the basic shapes to creating a cartoon head and then builds on these through out the book. He then takes you onto designing your own characters and giving them character through costumes and body language.

If you are just starting out in drawing cartoons, then you really should consider getting this book.
