Gorgeous Book for Elementary Kids

This book was recommended by the IG mommy bloggers. I loved it and my 6 year old grandson--who is a very strong reader, read it by himself. He said it reminded him of me. Nice compliment! Not for kids younger than first grade or so--unless they are extra sensitive and supper emotionally in touch. It's a pretty complex theme. Beautiful, beautiful illustrations. I used it for lion week.

Be Youself

A simple & beautiful book with a classic message: Be Yourself. The lesson is very similar to the most CHARMING Steven Cosgrove book, Leo the Lop.

A well written, wonderful book that has a great message for children (and adults)!

Fantastic! Extremely well written, I loved all the word choices the author used. The words make the story flow with a calmness and confidence that complement the character traits of Leonard the main character of this book. Leonard is a wonderful character for children to admire and learn from. There are many lessons to learn from this book in regard to dealing with peer pressure and bullies, self-confidence, being a good friend, using words to make change, and courage to be yourself. I recommend this book for all children to read and feel that adults will enjoy reading it too.

I love it already!

I have sent Ed Vere's entire series of books about Max to my own nephew Max, and purchased "Max the Brave" for myself as well. I just purchased this new book - one sent to my nephew Max and one for me. I saw the preview content, read the description and inspiration for the book on Ed's Facebook profile and knew we'd both love it! From my point of view, I am still not too old to enjoy children's books!

Great, lyrical read that teaches us there is no ONE way to be

Really marvelous book (with a lovely rhythm and rhyme pattern for a fun read aloud) that teaches about the "gray space" of being - meaning that you don't have to be like everyone else to be a contributing member of your community.

A new favorite

My four year old loved this from the library so we had to buy it for us, for some friends, and for his preschool classroom. It's a great story about leading a life that you feel proud of and doing what you choose to do rather than what your buddies might be doing/what might seem to be the "cool" choice. We love it!!
