A Fun Scoundrel!

Lady Zoe Keane has it all. Heir to her father’s vast estates, she will one day be a countess. So why is he suddenly so keen to marry her off to her American cousin, a man she’s never met? A romantic at heart, Zoe wants a love match. Her family explains the circumstances of her birth and she hires the Duke’s Men to find her true origins. She’s shocked, of course, but only wants the best to help her locate her birth mother, apparently a Romany named Drina. The agency assigns known ne'er-do-well Tristan Bonnaud to the case. He’s apparently more interested in furthering his own cause by locating Drina’s brother to solve a years’-old case to clear his name than the plight of the young woman. Tristan does have scruples despite his reputation and hopes the overlapping cases will have a positive result. Danger and surprises hamper their journey while their close proximity ignites passion between the couple.

This is an amazing entry in the Duke’s Men series. It does not disappoint as the emotions of the principals pull you into the story. The secondary characters are as varied as night and day and add flavor to the tale. This can be read as a standalone, but friends from the first two books are here enticing you to read their stories. I highly recommend this book to anyone looking for a love story wrapped in a great adventure. You’ll be entertained.

Good read for mystery and romance lovers!

Well written with good characters, just a little slow moving. Liked the mystery throughout, which seems like a trademark of Sabrina Jeffries. It definitely made me pick up her other books!

Boring--all talk

Boring. It's all talk for the first half of the book. It's missing all that wonderful description and great turn of phrases that used to characterize Jeffries' writing, but this series is a complete disappointment. Her writing style changed with this series, and it isn't at all as good as her previous books. Skip this series (and especially this book), and read The Hellions of Halstead Hall instead.

Romantic and full of Adventure!

This is one of my favorites of Sabrina Jeffrie's books! It was absolutely terrific! The characters were multi-dimensional, the plot exciting and full of adventure, and the romance was both hot and emotional! I loved it!

Romance that features a mystery and plenty of secrets!

I just loved this story and for that I credit the characterization of Zoe, the heroine. She was everything I want a heroine to be, spunky, smart and capable of taking care of herself and business at hand.

As for the hero, I was impressed with him ever since he was introduced to us in the earlier book and couldn't wait for his story. Pairing him with Zoe was wonderful!

If you love your romance to feature a mystery and plenty of secrets, you must get this book.

She is one of my favorite authors.

It was everything I expected it to be. I read the other three books in that series and this one lived up to my expectations. She is one of my favorite authors.

How the Scoundrel Seduces

How the Scoundrel Seduces is a bright, light-on-its-feet romance with irresistible characters and a heartwarming romance. I can always count on Sabrina Jeffries to deliver an addictive, entertaining story, and Tristan and Zoe’s book is no exception.

As a young man, Tristan Bonnaud’s life was shattered when his father died and his legitimate eldest half-brother cast him out and tried to ruin his life. He has since rebuilt himself from the ashes and is now determined to do whatever it takes to get leverage over George. He doesn’t have time for some silly society girl and her claims of mysterious Romany parentage. But Tristan quickly finds out that Lady Zoe Keane is anything but silly and her case might just help him with his own cause. What Tristan and Zoe uncover, I’ll leave for readers to discover on their own. I will say that their journey to uncover secrets from their past leads them to danger, forces them to confront their fears, and – best of all – helps them find the love they yearned for.

What makes How the Scoundrel Seduces shine is its characters. Zoe is an unconventional lady; her impulsive nature, uncommon beauty, and tendency to dress with “dash,” make men who aren’t after her fortune shy away. Tristan – who has no love for aristocrats – quickly finds himself captivated by Zoe. I loved that Tristan not only saw the real Zoe, but adored her for it. Tristan, in turn, is a scoundrel in the very best sense. He’s got a roguish sense of humor, but don’t let his words fool you. Tristan carries internal scars he hides well, but Zoe sees the whole of him. Together, he and Zoe are a dynamic pair. The chemistry they have fairly crackles on the page and, quite simply, they made me smile.

How the Scoundrel Seduces is a lovely tale of owning who you are, regardless of what society thinks of you. Zoe, Tristan, and the beloved members of their families are all endearing characters who make the pages of the book fly by. How the Scoundrel Seduces is the third book in The Duke’s Men series, but it can be read as a standalone (though I highly recommend all four books). Historical romance fans, be sure to check out How the Scoundrel Seduces – you won’t regret it!
