Description

Ever since Harry Potter had come home for the summer, the Dursleys had been so mean and hideous that all Harry wanted was to get back to the Hogwarts School for Witchcraft and Wizardry. But just as he's packing his bags, Harry receives a warning from a strange, impish creature who says that if Harry returns to Hogwarts, disaster will strike. And strike it does. For in Harry's second year at Hogwarts, fresh torments and horrors arise, including an outrageously stuck-up new professor and a spirit who haunts the girls' bathroom. But then the real trouble begins -- someone is turning Hogwarts students to stone. Could it be Draco Malfoy, a more poisonous rival than ever? Could it possibly be Hagrid, whose mysterious past is finally told? Or could it be the one everyone at Hogwarts most suspects...Harry Potter himself!

Not what I expected

This says library binding, but it is not. Library binding is when the book is actually sewn together for durability. This is a paperback in size and quality with a hard cover that has a bad version of the cover art.

Choose a different binding

Harry Potter and Chamber of secrets is a great follow-up to ...Sorcerer's Stone. My granddaughters and I are enjoying reading the series together. However, I would not want to purchase the "...School Library" editions for future HP books, It's more like a paperback with a thicker cover. Pages loosen, and the feel of the book is less that I expected.

poor quality

This is a great book, however if you are looking for a complete set of the HP books in hardcover this is not the version to buy. This version has a very poorly made hard cover with no sleve and is much smaller then the hardcover version of the later books.
