Hard Rain by B.J.Daniels has it all, the beauty of the Montana mountains, a family secret that gets unearthed in a rain storm. Family feuds between the McTavish's and Hamilton's. A lost love and a new love. A rape, an old murder and a new one, a cover up and politicians running for president. need I say more? If that isn't enough to make you read this book then nothing can.

The mystery of what happened to Maggie McTavish. J.D. was running for president and very married but was in love with Maggie when she came up missing. The town has speculated for years wondering if he had something to do with her disappearance.

When Harper Hamilton and Brody McTavish find a body on Hamilton property it brings all of the past and speculation back again. Could Harper's grandfather J.D. had something to do with it or did someone else? Now Harper's father is running for president can his campaign weather the past coming back up again? Will Harper and Brody be able to be together with all the bad blood between the families?
Then we have Sarah, Buckmaster's wife. Not saying she has done anything but I just don't trust that lady. She sure seems guilty of something.
I really like the way Ms. Daniels pulls you into the story and makes all the characters come to life This is the first book that I have read by her and will not be the last. I now have to go back and read all the rest. :-) I highly recommend this book!

A Book Obsessed Chicks Review Team Selection

B.J. Daniels not only writes a nice convincing mystery/love story with this book, but she creates characters that come to life on the pages. I love that she interweaves characters from previous books into each one she writes. Sheriff Frank Curry and his wife Lynette figure predominantly in this book and I can never get enough of their story. If Frank ever does retire from the Sheriff’s department, I sure hope he and Nettie become private investigators.

In this 4th book in the continuing story of the Montana Hamiltons, we meet, Harper, one of Buckmaster Hamilton’s twin daughters. I don’t much care for Buck Hamilton, his life or his bid for the presidency, but I do enjoy the stories of his daughters and the men in their lives. Oh, and that continuing arc about his first wife, Sarah, brings another dimension to this story. Who is she really?

Harper and Brody McTavish come from warring families and they love one another – always have. They join forces to try and solve a 35 year old murder much to their families’ dismay. This book can be read as a stand-alone – but why would anyone want to miss the first three installments of this series? And you can bet that I’ll read the next one, too. BJ Daniels throws out a hook at every turn making you keep reading and reading and anticipating the next twist to the story.

This is definitely a 5 star read and I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good mystery/love story.

Great writer, suspense!

A mystery among mysteries. So many things happened in the past that a person wishes there had been a different, happier ending.

I LOVE this series!!!

Disappointing. I could not get into the first chapter cause I do not like trading two books in one. The going back and forth between past and present Can be confusing. Keeping track ofeho is who ????? What am I say. Bj. Should have stuck to one store or the other. What's happening to other characters in book. ??? Please tell me Inthe Dust will be different. If not $$$$ wasted Just give me plain old mystery n romance. I would not buy this book again.

I can't believe that this series just keeps getting better and better. I've loved all the books that I've read in this series and the next one won't be out soon enough for me. They are just so good that I couldn't put them down and this one was awesome. There's so much going on in each book and the twists are nail biting and heart wrenching. Brody McTavish and Harper Hamilton are star crossed lovers. The animosity between the two families is old history that has just been thrust into Brody and Harpers laps, and its about to threaten everything they hold dear.

B.J Daniels writes the most intriguing page turning novels I have ever read..Hard Rain is no exception. She writes the best mystery and intrigue that keeps you turning to the next page to see what happens. This book kept me turning page after page to see what happened next. I love how it weaves between what happens in the past to what is going on in the future. They weave together a fantastic story that makes you wish the story would not finish but you still want to know what is going on. I wish I had the next book in the series to read after finishing Hard Rain. As I said an absolutely fabulous story that answers many questions but leaves you with more to come.

I thought I knew the ending part way through. Boy was I ever surprised. All her books are great.
