None of the recipes were recognized from the show. It's just a baking recipe book using the show's name, it doesn't really connect to the show so.... no thanks. The recipes were kinda basic, didn't seem British or exciting in any way, so that sealed the deal. I can google basic cookie recipes! I want to make what was on the show!

Like all the books tied to the series, there are pearls of wisdom and recipes worth doing.

For any fan of the show, the book won't disappoint. I would still recommend getting Mary's "Baking Bible" and one of Paul's books if you are keen to make more of the judge's recipes.

I would have skipped it in a bookstore

80 recipes. Large number (over 1/2) without pics. Pictures are in color and then there are “family” pics?!? If you have other books from this production I would skip this. Had I been able to flip through I would have skipped it. I have the majority of these books b/c I like the unique take on the recipes the contestants came up with. Sad to say I don’t recommend this book. If you want to use Learn to Bake in your title pictures with every recipe goes a long way.

If you want to try your hand at recipes from the Great British Baking Show this cookbook gives very detailed recipes along with photos at various stages of preparation. You do need a scale because ingredients are weighed in metric. Scales are inexpensive and easy to use. This book does not contain a huge amount of recipes but is a representative sampler of traditional British baked goods.
