GMAT Official Guide 2022 Bundle: Books + Online Question Bank

I’m a Harvard grad, 99% GMAT scorer and professional tutor/coach since 2002. I have taken the GMAT 6 times—including the GMAT online—with personal bests of 770 composite, 50/51 Quant, 48/51 Verbal, 8/8 IR (2 times) and 6.0 AWA (4 times), and I have scored 700+ on every attempt. More importantly, however, I’ve coached hundreds of aspiring business school students to significantly better GMAT scores over the last two decades, including scores as high as 720 (94%), 740 (97%), 760 (99%), 770, 780, and yes, even the elusive perfect 800, with an average score improvement of over 120 points. The GMAT Official Guide Bundle 2022, a.k.a. "OG" Bundle (currently $56) receives my qualified recommendation because it provides a great source of over 2,000 real GMAT practice questions: approximately 1,900 questions across the 3 books, and an additional 174 "online exclusive" questions. It also includes access to an online / mobile version of all the questions in the books, known as the GMAT Official Guide Online Question Bank.

Despite having given this book 5 stars in a row for many years, I’m knocking it down to 4 stars this year, for the simple reason that with zero new questions—as opposed to previous editions that offered about 15% new questions—it’s mostly useless for someone with an older edition of the OG. You should also utilize the free GMAT Club website, which has forum-style explanations to every GMAT question (simply google search the exact wording of your question), because the official explanations in the OG are notoriously lacking.

That being said, this year's official guide is still entirely useful as a source of paper questions for those who don’t already have a copy of the OG Bundle, since although the GMAT is a computer test, it can still be quite helpful to study and prepare on paper using a physical book.

The OG Bundle is by far the very best source of GMAT practice questions—especially for Verbal, where real questions are indispensable—but you will likely need another type of study aid to help improve your scores, such as a book, a class, an online self-study program, a private tutor, or a combination of those 4 methods, in addition to self-study. In most cases, GMAT self-study is possible given the many free, public learning resources such as GMAT Club, especially for Quant, but it can become more challenging on Verbal, where the official explanations can be even more confusing than the questions themselves, and the online preparation options are far more limited and lacking.

Make sure you know what you are looking for when preparing for the GMAT.

What I mean is that all the info found in all these books can be accessed for free at mba.com. I don't mean you will find similar review, you will find the exact lessons, explanations, and examples in this site.

So why buy this set? The practice problems. You get a thousand practice question and they can be taken online as well. The best way to prepare for the GMAT is through practice problems and that's why you should buy this set.

Basically you are paying for the ability to access past GMAT questions, not the info.

These are good books so far, but the code it gives you to use the app doesn’t work. By that I mean that once you get into the app, there isn’t a way to practice for the gmat

I tried every code provided and each one returned an error code and is listed as invalid. Thankfully, I had success contacting the support line with Wiley (you access the online info through their site). They were able to add the online access directly to my account but they had no explanation for why the access codes were returning error messages.

I almost finished the first book in the bundle. It's really comprehensive and helpful for my GMAT prep journey. I am taking my GMAT exam next month, so wish me luck :)

The book is great as far as practice questions. However, if your are refreshing on math topics like myself. The explanations will provide little clarity.

Received my GMAT Official Guide 2022 books a day early in excellent condition. BRAND NEW and no damage to box or books. Unlike the previous reviews, my scratch off code worked!!! I was concerned about that. I have registered and downloaded the "Wiley Efficient Learning" App. I 100% recommend ordering from Amazon.

Llegó súper bien a Perú.

The books come with codes that are supposed to be redeemed to access online practice materials. THEY DID NOT WORK FOR ME, and mba.com's customer service referred me to the customer service of another company (VitalSource), and they said that they were not responsible for those products or codes, so it was a dead end.

I bought this book because of the added value of the online practice questions. The code didnt work so I dont have access to any of the online features of this book.
