Excellent

I truly enjoy this series by Simon Scarrow. So much so I have purchased more of his books. The Gladiator series is absolutely delightful. I have long been a fan of sword and sandal epics.
Marcus is the son of Spartacus that was raised by a retired Roman soldier and his wife who was Spartacus's wife before the rebellion was crushed. His father was killed by Decimus who was collecting a debt. Marcus's mother was sold into slavery. The third book finds Marcus working for Julius Caesar and following him into crushing a new slave rebellion. The book moves along at a swift pace and is difficult to put down. Although this series is written for younger people I find ( as a senior citizen) the books delightful. I would say excellent for all ages.

son of Spartacus

as always, I enjoyed Simon Scarrow's rendition of a young boy being sold into the ludus to become a gladiator quite fascinating.
