Delightful illustrations

The story is cute, too long and too many words, understandably, on each page to capture my 2 year old and 4 year old children’s attention if I read every word. But oh, the illustrations! They will independently sit and look over every page.
My kids really enjoyed their cousins’ hardcover copy if this book. So I got the board book so it will stand up to little hands. I was disappointed in how small the book is, but I also didn’t pay attention to the listed dimensions. I was pleasantly surprised when the pop-up feature on one page was included in the board book. Which is both my littles favorite part. So over all, the book is a successful purchase

Caution: pop-up!

CAUTION: THE BOARD BOOK HAS A POP/UP PAGE! I bought the board book to encourage my baby's enthusiasm for books. I was very excited to find out that several Jan Brett titles were available in the board book, meaning I could share them with my baby a few years earlier than planned. It's easy to have the board books where he can reach them and help himself. Slightly disappointed that this has to go on the higher shelf so he doesn't rip it.
I also imagine that the hardcover format is much larger and makes enjoying the artwork easier.
