The book’s language is easy enough to understand, yet doesn’t talk down to the kids or sound babyish.” -- Andrea Coventry, Montessori Educator, Andi’s Kids Books Blog This expanded paperback version of the Germs Are Not for Sharing set is for older kids (ages 4-7) than the board book for toddlers. It contains germs basics, including what they are, where they live, how your body fights them, and more. Germs live for more than 2 hours.......

The book gives false information. I wanted to love this book so badly. We have almost every other book in the series, mostly in board book form. Love them. While they're not the best of the books, they're still 5 stars. Not this one. Thankfully my kids can't read or I'd have sent it back. The only reason I haven't is because of how hyped they were for it to come.

First off, is coughing into your chest/ shoulder. Kids should be taught properly. Why even suggest something they've not thought about. They wouldn't be able to successfully accomplish the correct way to do this- MOST adults don't even do this the right way. Yes, if your hands are full it's better than nothing but maybe mention that?

The one that upset me the most... "and we can live there for up to 2 hours." Yes. Some germs probably die off within 2 hours. But not all of them. So saying up to, is false and misleading. It just didn't even need said. Kids remember stuff. Giving them false information is how we end up with problems like anti-intellectualism.

I saw someone complain in another review about the 5 second rule of dropping the food on the floor wasn't in the book. That's because it doesn't exist. That's not how germs work. They don't say count down and then plunge off of an item like they're walking the plank.

Books is good, but the cover is different.

The book cover is completely different from the picture of the product description. I think it's the same inside story. Amazon should change the product’s cover photo same as real book. For your information, I bought a used book.

Germs Are Not for Sharing

The book is good, though for my sons (ages 7 and 5), I had wished there would be a little more explanation of the science or a pictorial showing of exactly how germs are spread. Instead, it's more of a "be clean because of germs" superficial lesson. The book is good-- I had just hoped for a bit more.

Great hand washing book!

What a great book to teach the basics of hand washing! This book is entertaining and very informative for children of many ages. This book is best when paired with a hand washing demonstration, hygiene lesson, environmental cleaning activity or infection control subject. After reading this book with students, they will likely want to run over to the sink and start washing immediately!
