"Annihilate the bigger-than life struggle that has haunted us for so long."

“What we’re about to embark on is a journey of learning to rely on God’s power to do for us what we can’t on our own: annihilate the bigger-than life struggle that has haunted us for so long. And He delights in fighting this battle for us because it brings us closer to Him.” – Asheritah Ciuciu

Have you ever wondered “What is wrong with me? Why can’t I win this food battle once and for all?” This resource helped me to understand.

How many “diets/plans” have you attempted in your life…for those trying to lose and others seeking to be healthier? Yet, there is always another method/process/plan. The bottom line is that we are putting too much weight on the issue. (Couldn’t resist the pun.) In all seriousness, we create in food an idol. Whether we focus on chocolate or kale…there is just too much emphasis, time, energy, and thought placed on something meant to be nourishment. I am praying that “Full. Food, Jesus, and the Battle for Satisfaction” continues to teach me to fix my heart on Christ instead, for He has already won.

In "Full," Asheritah offers solid, biblically sound instruction to help readers learn to lean on God instead of the scale. LOVE the free, interactive bonus features woven throughout the book: videos, lock screens to download for mobile devices, and charts/graphs/journaling pages. They provide great support and encouragement - make the experience deeper.

*I received an advance copy in exchange for my honest opinion...then purchased another on Amazon and seven more from Moody Publishers. * Like potato chips, once you taste one – you can’t stop. Wait. You can stop munching the chips; “Full” teaches you how!

Raises Good Questions about Our Attitude Toward Food

This book about our attitude toward food covers some great topics and challenges the reader in a good way! I started the book and set it aside for a time, but when I picked it back up, I found myself engaged by the writing, the readable structure, and the important reminders.

I found chapters 10 and 11 ("Embrace the Grace of Community" and "Serve with Food") to be especially challenging and thought-provoking. How should food be treated in the church? How can we move the focus of our hearts from food to God during times of fellowship? How can we remember and care for the hungry? These are all good questions...and things I need to think about more.

I also appreciate that a chapter is dedicated to fasting, something noted in the Bible but not overly discussed in modern times. It feels like more of a radical or foreign concept, but I don't think it's supposed to be. There's so much I have to learn about fasting, and it's helpful to have some guidance in this book.

When read too quickly, I could see Full being a bit overwhelming...there's a lot to "digest" in the area of eating! But I appreciate that the intent of this book is to direct readers to Jesus and how we can honor Him in this part of our lives that tends to "consume" a lot of our time and thinking. (Pardon the puns!)

Full is an encouraging read that tackles a touchy topic with grace.

Easily the best book on this subject that I have read (and I think I've read them all...) :)

I've read many very good books about turning to Jesus to conquer my food addictions, and all have helped my relationship with Him immensely, but I have honestly never read a book that SO hit on everything that I struggle with...this book is about the struggle with food, but it's more about developing a relationship with our Lord in place of the idol of food (or anything else). It truly was the best book on this subject that I have read, and I recommend it heartily to anyone. Asheritah Ciuciu is very relatable, loving and smart. She gives a lot of bonus information available through her website as you read the book, which I found extremely helpful.

Unhelpful.

I was very disappointed in this book and the workbook. I found it actually shaming and insulting. I expected to be inspired and given biblical support in dealing with my food issues.

This book is a life saver!

This book has changed my life! I've struggled to stick to a wonderful moderate healthy eating plan for the last few years. This addresses the heart and soul issues and gave me what I needed to draw clear boundaries and also address some emotional needs with prayer and rest instead of food. I have returned to reference this book already. Loved it so much! It has a forever spot on my bedside table.

Helpful

I appreciated Asheritah's friendly and honest tone throughout this book. She shares her life examples that led her to understand the dangers of food obsession. What I really appreciated is that she didn't give any recipes or food suggestions. She even mentioned that eating healthy can become an idol. Other topics she discussed were emotional eating and feeling compelled to eat because food is offered even when you aren't hungry. The best part of all was that she always brought the reader back to the fact that we need to find satisfaction in God and she gave many helpful ways to do that. She offered online resources at the end of each chapter, but I did not utilize them so I cannot comment on them. Overall really solid and helpful book.

Biblical help for the stronghold of food addiction

Food fixation is something I've struggled with for many years, but it wasn't until I read "Full" that I truly recognized it as a stronghold and a besetting sin in my life. This book has inspired me to seek the power of the Holy Spirit in new ways as I strive to overcome the stronghold of food addiction! Reading "Full" has inspired me to pray differently before meals. No longer am I simply thanking God for the food in front of me before I proceed to devour it and go back for more. Now, I'm asking Him to bless me with the power to know when enough is enough, and that I would honor Him with my choices. And it's working! When I approach the throne of grace with a sincere desire to bring glory to my Father, rather than a desire to simply enjoy His gifts, He blesses me with the opportunity to watch His power at work in my life! This book has served as a reminder for me that there is truly NOTHING in my life that my Father doesn't care about or cannot help me overcome - I can turn to Him with my food issues, and with anything else, and trust that He sees me, He hears me, and His Spirit will empower me to glorify Him with my choices.

Not a diet, not a "lifestyle " but the way of life

I love this book and perspective. God first, everything else second. You won't find a guide, recipe or anything found in a typical "diet" book but you will find some solid truth.
It changed my way of not only food but other strongholds like anger, frustration and quick temperedness.
