Footsteps in the Attic

This was a very easy read and entertaining book, but please for the love of everything get this woman an editor!!!

Footsteps in the Attic is an easy, fun read; I read it in two days.
A young widow moves to a small Georgia town to purchase and flip an Antebellum home. She meets and becomes friends with everyone in the town, including the local sheriff with whom she begins a sweet, flirty relationship. The romance kept reminding me of Hallmark movies, and that wasn't a bad thing.
A mystery begins to unfold through the house and ghosts that inhabit it. This is not a horror story. This is a ghostly mystery, and our heroine, Hannah, is drawn into the mystery's twists and turns on the way to solving it.
Other reviewers have been critical of proofing errors, and there are some, but none of them distract from the story. I enjoyed this book and will read others by Heidi Wildes Mitchell. You should, too.

I see by the biography that this author is an adult. However, as I was reading, I began to wonder if I wasn't reading something by a person who hadn't passed high school English. Yes, yes, yes, SHE NEEDS A GOOD EDITOR! The plot is a good premise, though I had correctly guessed the ending long before I had finished the book, but the disjointed sentences, clunky syntax and incorrect spelling, punctuation and grammar make me want to grab my red pencil and start marking, circling and correcting her writing and word choices. Trying to wade through the mess isn't worth it. I'm glad I read this for free. I won't be reading this author again.

Someone should have proofread this book before it went to print, lot of misspelled words. It was O.K. Must be a young writer, needs more experience. Keep trying.

In Mitchell's fantasy novel, she spins a charming story clearly written by a young and inexperienced writer. An entertaining, easy to read story.

This was a really great book with a great storyline. It was easy to read and kept my interest the whole time. Heidi's character development was very well-done. It keeps you wondering and turning the next page to find out what happens next. I hope Heidi keeps writing. I'll definitely keep reading!

Heidi you did a superb job on this book! This book keeps you on your toes and you don't want to put it down. Heidi you have a true talent and I can't imagine anyone not enjoying this book. It is my pleasure to let others know what a great book this is and I can't wait to see more of your work come out soon!
