Hugs! From the Inside Flap EXCERPT FROM CATALOG:I glanced out of the window, my sights falling on a black Dodge 4 x 4 complete with chrome, mud flaps, oversized running boards, and those big tires that looked as if they were made merely for recycling as multi-person flotation devices. Not unusual in Texas, but more than a little out of place in our neck of the woods. I held my breath as the door swung open and Dwayne Neeley stepped out."Whoa." My imagination hadn't done him justice.Tall. Check.Burly. Check.Five o'clock shadow. Check.I stopped checking after that, worried I might lose track of the reason for his visit. He drew a bit closer, and I took note of the fact that Sophia--who'd been sitting on our veranda next door--was now on her feet, giving him a solid once-over.Watch yourself, girl.As Dwayne ambled up the drive, the pointed toes of his boots moving in perfectly timed steps, my heart seemed to beat along in sync. After a few seconds of staring at his broad shoulders and rugged good looks, I sprinted to the front door, pausing only to double-check my appearance in the front-hall mirror before stepping out onto the veranda. Once there, I did my best to look calm and unassuming.A smile lit my cowboy deejay's handsome face as he climbed the stairs to meet me on the porch. My, but the boy was tall."Dwayne Neeley?" I managed."The one and only."He extended his right hand. I took it, but found it difficult to focus, because, now that we were within hand-shaking distance, something else stood out, something that totally threw me. His clothes were, well, dirty. And he had that same wet puppy smell Nick's boys always got when they'd been playing in the summer sun too long. And I was pretty sure he had--what was that, sawdust?--in his hair. Ever wonder how Italian sounds with a Southern drawl?Bella Rossi's life is just starting to get interesting. When her Italian-turned-Texan parents hand over the family wedding-planning business, Bella quickly books a Boot-Scootin' wedding that would make any Texan proud. There's only one catch--she doesn't know a thing about country music. Where will she find a deejay on such short notice who knows his Alan Jackson from his George Strait? And will Bella ever get to plan her own wedding?Fun, fresh, and full of surprises, this flavorful combination of Italian and Tex-Mex highlights the hilarity that ensues when cultures clash."I fell in love with the Rossi clan, who feel as passionately about their pizza as Texans do about chili. Add a hunky cowboy with a slow Southern drawl, and you've got a recipe for one terrific story."--Virginia Smith, author, Stuck in the Middle "A charming tale about stumbling upon love and finding a bit of your true self along life's journey. This fun read makes you grateful for the truly important things in life."--Megan DiMaria, author, Searching for Spice and Out of Her Hands Janice Thompson is a seasoned romance author and native Texan. Wrong section

Like a lot of people, I don't like leaving a book unfinished so I did read it all but by the end, I felt more annoyed than anything else. My question is, why was this book put in the romance section when there were more references to religion than love? Had I known that this was the case, I wouldn't have downloaded it. I am a Christian, don't get me wrong, but the last thing I want to read about in a romance story is the Lord. Sorry but it wasn't my cup of tea.

Reviewing FOOLS RUSH IN

I just finished reading FOOLS RUSH IN by Janice Thompson and I am still smiling. I don't think there was a page that I didn't either smile or laugh out loud. This is a very entertaining book that will lift your spirit and cause your faith to soar. The author handles the differences in worship styles accurately and gracefully and I think it would be hard for any Christian to be offended with any of her musings or situations.
The author's characters are varied and each one entertaining and 'different' to make the story even more interesting. I highly recommend this book for all ages.

I received this book as an eBook.

Italy Meets Texas Makes for Lots of Laughs

This comedy/romance kept me laughing out loud (embarrassingly so). I'm a cowgirl who is currently in Italy and so the timing couldn't have been more perfect for me to pick up this novel.

I thoroughly enjoyed the story line, including the emphasis on faith that was so down to earth and real to life. I'd highly recommend Fools Rush In to anyone looking for a comedic romance.

Lots of slapstick humor here

This writer knows how to keep the story light and engaging, sprinkling in many missteps of its main character and her family. Bella's Italian heritage fuels the plot with lots of quirky behavior that somehow seems believable enough to keep you glued. The hero, however, is always a hero and wins your heart from his first appearance on the page. Kudos to the writer for this thoroughly entertaining read.

Favorite fiction read!

This was my favorite vacation read of all times. I needed to get away from computers and stressful deadlines, which is not easy to let it all go... I accidentally stumbled on this book when looking for something else, and what a great find! This book kept my attention, had me laughing out loud and was an instant stress reliever. We can immediately relate to the main character and it's captivating to keep us living in and with the whole Rossi family... all the way through the book. Since reading this book, I've continued to read everything else Thompson has written. Now I'm anxiously awaiting each new book that she is writing!

Downright FUNNY & Loaded with Southern Charm

I downloaded this as a freebie, but rest assured that I will soon want it on my bookshelf. If a book lands on my bookshelf, then it is there to stay.

Some might think the family is ridiculous or that Bella is immature, but hey, a lot of us southern families are like that. We live life to the fullest; we are loud; we love immensely; and we love our Lord. We aren't called the Bible Belt for nothing!

Thompson's book takes a fresh and absolutely hilarious approach to a transplanted Italian family in a southern Texas town. But it isn't too farfetched to see Italians and Cowboys together, I mean, hey, they make the best cowboy boots this side of Sunday --or case may be, this side of Texas.

The cliches used in the book? Well, we are known for using them so it makes it believable. The riotous family? Ha! Sounds a lot like mine!
The mix-up about deejay and D.J.? Yup, not surprising. And how the family just pulls him into the fold? Perfect!

The Christian references: praying, singing, rehabilitating a dog and a parrot? Sounds like a normal life to me. As a Christian, it isn't unusual to talk like that. Faith defines those who truly walk His path.

Fools Rush In is a great and awesome book to read. It kept me up well into the night laughing and giggling. I might have been able to guess what was going to happen next. Made it even more delightful to learn that I was correct in my assumption. This story had me turning the pages (or in this case, hitting the arrow key) as fast as I could! I look forward to reading more of Thompson's books. This is one book I will highly recommend!
