FOLLOWING YOU: Suspenseful page turner with surprising ending

What a great thrill and suspense it was to read. What a great psychological thrill! This novel had everything in it. The thrill, the suspense, the psychological, and the twist is crazy. This novel will keep you thinking and guessing. When you think you right, well let me just say that you might be wrong. This had me all over the place. My heart beating so fast! I couldn't believe what I was reading. If had me in shock. Every page, every chapter was a page turner. I couldn't believe my eyes what I was reading. I highly recommend everybody get this book and read it. It will surprise you in every way.

The storyline was very good!
The theme and setting was well put together. The characters was well put together in the story.
This story will have in a rollercoaster with all the spooky and secrets. Was so well put in the story.

What a great read! This had me hooked from the beginning. What a Rollercoaster! The sitting, theme, and the Characters had me pulled so in. Everything was well put together and it was just perfect. This novel would have you guess and thinking all the way to the end. What a great thrill and suspense. I love a great suspense that would have me think and guessing. This novel did just that to me. To the point that am wrong. When the ending comes am on shock. I wouldn't of never believe or guess. Like OMG!
Highly recommend everybody get this book and read it. Its so good!

Eva Natiello has again delivered a wickedly funny, tightly-paced psychological thriller. A little bit Bonfire of the Vanities and a little bit Misery. Each deeply flawed character has to come terms with themselves by the end of the book. From the super creepy Lawrence and his obsession with disposable latex gloves to Shae the beloved host of IShop to sweet Honey with a heart of gold who makes a lot of bad decisions, the characters are original and interesting.

Following You asks the question: how well do we really know each other? And are we more willing to believe people who are considered educated and successful over those who are dirt poor and just trying to survive?

Set aside time to read, because you won’t be able to put it down!

I couldn't put the book down, and that's essentially how I rate my thrillers and suspense novels. Having read this author's previous book, The Memory Box, I was excited to read a new one during my pandemic days, and I flew through it. While intense, the book was so well done in that the author seemed to ease the palpitations of this reader with sections of the book that were downright amusing, dare I say funny. Having just read You, and then having watched Dead to Me on Netflix, I found that reading Following You appealed to the part of me that needed a mix of both terror and dark humor. I read suspense to be made uncomfortable with the intensity of the story being told, but I also need reprieve or I can't go on, and put the book down too often. This author got that part right -- she weaves an engrossing plot driven story but also cares for her reader. I got that with the Lawrence story line and elements of Honey, and Shay's profession at the television network. I breathed an actual sigh of relief with how the book tied up for me, which is not always the case in plot driven books. I think this author hit it out of the ballpark.

I loved this book! Natiello has an amazing ability to infuse the thriller genre with wry humor, social commentary, and existential questions and still keep her book a beach read! (Or late-into- the-night read, as was the case with me). I admire the range of characters she takes on, and the humanity she gives them. The character of Honey is my favorite. As was true with this author's last book, The Memory Box, reading it was like being at a magic show-- the way the author pulls of plot twists and turns is stunning.

Intriguing and can't put down until you finish it. Waiting for number 3 to be published. Bravo Eva.

I really wasn’t sure what was going to happen in Following You, and Natiello really kept me guessing. There was a good amount of tension but beyond that, this was a thought-provoking read as well. I love it when books surprise you!

He posts on Facebook from an account "Larry." His many purchases and on-air testimonials are from "Lars." Instagram comments, are from "Lance." Not sure how he keeps up with the lies.

He sniffs and rubs all her lotions and is a complete perv. (plus more). He never leaves a fingerprint and he loves his ironed khakis. (the scene with the ironing board was hilarious).

He lives with Rita, a nurse, and cannot figure out what she is doing with this loser. She has no clue who this man really is. OMG! Eva really has developed a sicko and love how she gets into his head. I love the banter between Lawrence and Rita. Rita is also pretty funny. So is he really whom he says he is?

Lastly, we meet the poor Southern gal, Honey. This girl has so many problems. She tries. I will give her that. She has had a bad childhood and cannot seem to catch a break. If there ever was a country song, she has lived it. This girl finds herself in the wrong place at the wrong time everywhere she turns. Is she whom she appears?

Two people are lying. Each person we meet has a secret past. Their past has shaped who they are today. There is deception, lies, and secrets. The two women may have more in common than they know.

On New Year’s Eve when Shae is following her cameraman to a party, she loses him and winds up in the wrong house. Honey is running from the cops and thinks Shae is a cop. Things go from bad to worse. Honey also has a friend who follows Shae, but no one knows where Shae is, even poor Lawrence. There is much behind Shae's outward and cool appearance.

There has been a stalker in the past. Who is the stalker, and who are these people? They are strangers, but their lives connect. How?

Diabolically twisted and entertaining.

Eva’s portrayal of Lawrence is fabulously compelling and darkly hilarious. I am a massive fan of the author from her debut, The Memory Box (read my review below), which landed on my Top Books of 2016. I was delighted when I discovered this book. If you have not read, it, I highly recommend both!

Not only is this a riveting suspenseful psychological thriller, but it also has a mysterious literary flair, I love. The butterfly symbolisms and metaphors are beautiful and lyrical.

An ongoing theme is "identity." I enjoyed the author's note. Who controls a person's identity? Do we control our own, or is our identity shaped by what others think of us?

A cautionary tale, especially in our world of social media today. Do we really know the person behind the screen? Do we believe what we see? In addition to the suspense, the novel goes more in-depth into each of these character’s past for a great character study. Self-identity. Their intense need to belong. Due to the secrets they keep, there is much fallout.

FOLLOWING YOU is perfect for fans of authors Kaira Rouda, Jennifer Hillier, Sally Hepworth, Wendy Walker, and Victoria Helen Stone. Set aside the time. It is unputdownable. Ideal for book clubs and further discussions. Book Club Questions included at the end of the book.
