Description

“This story of friendship, fresh stars, and belonging has appeal that continues far past the end zone.” — ALA Booklist “Timeless. An exciting continuation of Brock’s adventures on and off the field.” — Kirkus Reviews “Perfect for fans of Mike Lupica or Dan Gutman.” — Voice of Youth Advocates (VOYA) “An entertaining novel.” — Bulletin of the Center for Children’s Books It's going to take everything he has to stay on the first team . . . and stay safe. It's happened again. Brock Nickerson is on the run from the bad guys who have been chasing him and his father. But this time it's going to be different. At least, that's what Brock's dad has promised. This time they are going to stay . . . for good. So Brock decides to go out for the football team. With the help of his new friends, Mak and Laurel, Brock knows he can be a great quarterback and make first team. The coaches have other plans, though, especially for the kids from the wrong side of the tracks, which is exactly where Brock now lives. As Brock tries to fit in, both on and off the field, his father's past creeps up on him until one day, one chance meeting will cause everything to come crashing down. Can Brock navigate his new life, or will his past force him back on the run again? Tim Green , for many years a star defensive end with the Atlanta Falcons, is a man of many talents. He's the author of such gripping books for adults as the New York Times bestselling The Dark Side of the Game and American Outrage . Tim graduated covaledictorian from Syracuse University and was a first-round draft pick. He later earned his law degree with honors, and he has also worked as an NFL commentator for FOX Sports and NPR. His first book for young readers, Football Genius , inspired in part by his players and his own kids, became a New York Times bestseller and was followed by Football Hero , Football Champ, The Big Time , and Deep Zone . He drew on his experiences playing and coaching Little League for Rivals and Pinch Hit and two more New York Times bestsellers: Baseball Great and Best of the Best . Bestselling author Jon Scieszka called Tim Green's Unstoppable , a book about a boy's struggle with cancer that debuted at #2 on the New York Times bestseller list, "Absolutely heroic. And something every guy should read." Tim Green lives with his wife, Illyssa, and their five children in upstate New York. Read more

poor quality book

I am disappointed in the quality of the paper in the book. It is greyish in color and the print appears to be slightly blurred and hard to read. I normally can read a book without reading glasses but I had to put mine on to continue reading. My grandson likes Mr. Green's books and I enjoy reading to him. I normally just read from my computer but I did not this time thinking it would be nice to read a book and give it to him as a present. I do not think I will purchase any more books instead just reading from a computer.
