When you're ready for it...
Amazon's recommendations led me to this book...Thank you Amazon. OK, Lynn Grabhorn's writing style may be a little annoying, but the basic gist of this is that the energy that you put out/vibrate attracts your life experiences. Life is about choosing to feel good. Obviously, most of us are not experts on this, but some of us are trying to grasp this concept and apply it. If anything, I am grateful to this book for leading me to the Abraham-Hicks material, from which this book is based. Some folks are upset that Grabhorn did not give enout credit to the Abraham materials...true, but I wonder how many people were led to them through the book as I was (she does give a thank you to the "Hicks Family" in the intro). Consider this book a sort of intro to the Abraham-Hicks material...when you are ready you can move on to it. Then, if you are wanting something more "deep" regarding the concept of reality creation...check out the Jane Roberts/Seth materials. Personally I find the Abraham-Hicks material is just fine for me!
The bottom line is 1) it works and 2) not everyone is ready for this concept. With regard to the reviewer who questioned why children have bad life experiences...if you accept the concept that is put out here and by the Abraham materials that we choose our life experience before we are born, and that children are influenced by the energies around them, you may see how this happens. When you look around and begin to realize just how many of us are "flatlining" or putting out zero good energy, you start to realize how pervasive this mindset is. You can be a "good/nice" person and still vibrate fear, negativity and other low frequency energies and attract "bad things."
Far from being scary, these concepts are actually kind of freeing as you realize that you are part of God, that you are not some puppet whose strings are being pulled by some outside force, etc.
I have not read her second book, "Dear God!" which has been likened as the "depressive" part of a manic/depressive episode (this book being the manic) and I have no intention of doing so. I don't think Lynn Grabhorn is necessarily a guru or "master" of these principles (nor are many of us!) but she is at least the messenger....of which I'm grateful!

Too much cheerleading - no depth
Lynn Grabhorn discovered a secret. At least she thought it was a secret. This was the one thing that everyone has been looking for and she stumbled across it. And, let me tell you, she's here to tell you the secret. With a megaphone. And maybe a PA turned up really loud.
"Excuse Me" is her secret. Don't look for anything other than cheerleading. Nothing here is substantiated. All her premises are assumed. Her belief that feelings (and their particular 'energies) mold your life are what she shouts about. Sadly this is one of her more sane ideas.
The book is certainly entertaining. Her writing style is rather poor, I think, but engaging. There is some entertainment value here but I really can't recommend the book.

Good Follow-Up to the Secret & Hicks Books
Didn't really expect much, after all, I've read "Ask And It Is Given" by Esther &d Jerry Hicks and I've seen the Secret - so wondered how much more I could learn about positive thought and feeling, but this book just blew me away. Lynn Grabhorn has a great way of expressing her ideas in simple down-to-earth ways and her sense of humor is fun and light-hearted. I learned so much more about my feelings, it was definitely a worthwhile read.

Worth the Read!
OK, I'll grant - the book is poorly written/edited. It sounds "froofy and new-age" which can be a turn-off for alot of folks, including me. And yet... I feel like it was instrumental in transforming my life. It's that simple. I decided to read the book with the attitude that no matter how it was written or how unlikely it sounded - the author *could* be right. I became very inspired and did go back to get the workbook as soon as I'd finished it. Some friends put together a group and went through the workbook together, meeting each week to discuss the sections they'd covered - it was a great way to do it.
This book is one of three that has made such huge changes in my life, I feel like I'm a different person than I was when this journey began. For those interested, the other two books are, "Healing Back Pain" by Dr. Sarno (which addresses far more than back pain and helped me get rid of mine!) and, "Clear Your Clutter With Feng Shui" by Karen Kingston - which sounds just as hokey to me as Lynn Grabhorn's book, and worked a miracle in my house and my life.
Color me convinced. I've passed on so many copies of each of these books... I'm having to replenish my own bookshelf! Read it in good health!

The Law of Attraction - Simplified and Clarified
This book is about the increasingly popular concept of The Law of Attraction, which the author gives credit to the Hicks family for introducing her to. The Hicks are Jerry and Esther Hicks, who have written the fabulous books Ask and It Is Given and The Power of Deliberate Creation. Read those first - everything you need is there, and they are brilliant.
However, this book is also good, although it is a rather watered-down discussion of the Law of Attraction at times, it is also written in far more lively and understandable language, while the Hicks books have such long sentences you have to read them multiple times to get the full concept at times, though the concepts are brilliant once you get it.
In a nutshell, the Law of Attraction is about how a person can get what they want by sending out positive energy and marking how they feel to achieve it. I can personally vouch that the Law of Attraction works by concentrating on what you want rather than the lack of it. I found the courage to publish my own novels largely through reading Ask and It Is Given.
Grabhorn's book is filled with information and each chapter builds on the previous one. The book will teach you how to improve your relationships, acquire money and understand your beliefs and feelings around money which keep it from you, and in general how to FEEL GOOD. Nothing is more important than that you feel good, and once you realize that, rather than letting guilt or humiliation or self-deprivation direct your life based on old established beliefs, you can have anything you want.
The book comes highly recommended. It is difficult to explain its strengths in detail but I think everyone will find something useful in it, whether or not you become a disciple of the Law of Attraction.

Poorly Written Trite That's Neither Informing or Inspiring.
This books was so poorly written I couldn't even finish it. Read some samples before you purchase - if the pseudo folksy chatty sopohmore style perturbs you , you probably won't get used to it and it will only grate on you more with each page turned.
I got about half way through and felt neither inspired nor informed. The poor, muddled writing was a reflection, I think, of unclear thinking. I have heard the author committed assisted suicide, and while I have sympathy for her struggle I cannot recommend this book.
I have noticed a pattern with so called "Law of Attraction Books" They are saturated with reviews every time a negative one comes up - obviously viral marketing. Its become so pervasive I have stopped trusting reviews on what could be an interesting genre

Touching and inspiring, but lacks substance
While I found this book to be very inspiring and uplifting, I was left with little substance on "how" to make use of the principles in my own life. This is a great starter book to help skeptics understand the power of their thoughts and feelings, and to help them realize that it is indeed possible to alter the course of their lives - sometime profoundly. The book is much more inspiration than it is instruction, and if the reader is already a proponent of the laws of attraction, they would be better served by reading Michael Losier's book, going straight to Abraham-Hicks, or picking up a copy of Eva Gregory's new book ([...]

Everyone should own a copy....
This book has been a life-changing addition to my library. It really helps you to see WE have the power to control our lives. Unlike some of the negative reviews for this book who obviously in a "negative" state of mind in the first place, I recommend this book to anyone and everyone with an OPEN mind, and a willingness to change their lives for the BETTER...My whole family has read this book, and from that point on, things have changed dramatically for all of us. From better relationships, to better jobs, new careers, and even relocating to paradise(Hawaii!!)....Things just keep getting better and better. I love to give this book to friends and clients, because I think it is the best gift anyone could give to another: THE POWER TO CREATE EXACTLY WHAT WE WANT!

It will change your life
This book helped get me out of the rut that most of us live through every day - the daily grind of doing things because we have to, or because it's "realistic," or because of that old phrase: "That's Life." Lynn Grabhorn has reminded me that I make my own choices in life. That I can do or get anything I want if I center my feelings on that thing or idea. Not only has it helped me, but I had a friend who was always down, was couch surfing, and jobless. I said "read this book and you will have an apartement." She started reading it, and the NEXT DAY she had an apartment and a few days later a job. Just read it.
