Dressing with Dignity

I really enjoyed reading Collen's book and I think it's a wonderful resource. I learned a lot about the Catholic teaching on modesty that is based on the writing of Saints and Popes of the past. I command her for being the first Catholic author to publish a book on modesty. Many protestests are already ahead of the game. So often girls and women put themselves up for sale to every guy who walks around because their immodest dress tells guys that they don't respect and value their dignity, so they make themselves vulnerable to a guy's lust for pleasure and sex. The media is saturated with sexual messages and no wonder that guys are confused and don't know how to respect a woman.

I loved all the history in this book in regards to modesty. It convinced me to start "skirting" full time.

This is a wonderful book that truly has changed my life. I read it years ago and it helped take me from a rebellious teenager to a young woman far more aware of the evils of I'm modesty and how I can imitate our Lady and please our Lord in my dress. I recommend it to everyone. It is a deep but easy read.

This book is amazing! It changed my life! It is so well written! I couldn't put it down. Definetly a book I will keep around and read again!

I found the book very helpful to learn to dress better, with dignity and modesty but yet not looking like I walked off the set of Little House on the Prairie.

I think this was a wonderful book that gives a lot of helpful insight into the problems with the fashions in society. As a Catholic woman, I was very pleased to have all of the sources that discuss modesty and the reasons behind them in one place. It is a very helpful reference and had an extensive list of the sources cited. In discerning my own feelings of modesty and how I should dress, I was overjoyed to know that there actually is guidance from rightful authority in the Church. One cannot ever go wrong following the guidance of rightful authority! Any woman who is seeking to command respect and demand the dignity that she is owed as a beautiful daughter of God should definitely prayerfully consider the points that are so well laid out in this book. I highly recommend it and give it 5 stars!
