Features & Highlights

  • The 1964 murder of a nationally known cancer researcher sets the stage for this gripping exposé of medical professionals enmeshed in covert government operations over the course of three decades. Following a trail of police records, FBI files, cancer statistics, and medical journals, this revealing book presents evidence of a web of medical secret-keeping that began with the handling of evidence in the JFK assassination and continued apace, sweeping doctors into coverups of cancer outbreaks, contaminated polio vaccine, the arrival of the AIDS virus, and biological weapon research using infected monkeys.

Everyone in the USA should read this book.

There is so much information crammed into this extremely well-written book, it is hard to get your mind around it. Haslam connects the dots in ways that no one ever has. As a child of the 50's, I remember the Polio scare, and actually knowing children who contracted Polio after vaccination. After the vaccine was reformulated and grown on monkey kidneys, it was (accidentally??) contaminated with the SV40 monkey virus, similar to HIV, and well-known to cause soft-tissue cancers in humans. In fact, there is a direct connection between the rise in these cancers following polio mass vaccinations. Haslam has solid evidence of the clandestine New Orleans lab where these experiments were carried out, in connection with local federal research facilities. Lee Harvey Oswald was in the middle of everything in early 1963, and while this book is not about him or the Kennedy assassination, you will definite rethink everything that you ever knew. This book reads like an engrossing crime novel, but unfortunately it is non-fiction and heavily footnoted. I rate this as one of the top 5 non-fiction books I have read in my lifetime. Don't miss it!!

Excellent book - shatters perceptions and raises serious questions and concerns about just who is in charge

For the most part an excellent book everyone should read it. I do think Me & Lee by Judyth Vary Baker should be read before reading Dr Mary's Monkey. The research is thorough and the facts are well presented. I am not a fan of the footnoting because there is so much more information to be found in them I think the writer could have woven them into the text rather than added them as an aside.

Some of the conclusions drawn by the writer are difficult to reconcile with the first hand accounts in Me & Lee about the same people. I wonder if the writer was protecting himself a bit from any repercussions that might arise from laying blame at the feet of Dr Oschner and those he dealt with from the CIA/FBI/SS to the Mafia and to Foreign Elite where the lion's share clearly lies. I was also surprised to see the writer assign blame for that other virus to David Ferrie who appears to have been a scoundrel but who also clearly did not have the expertise or equipment required for creating a "designer" virus. He may well have delivered it but I am very doubtful he created it.

All in all this book is worth your time and money.

A Scary Possibility

Amazing story. Worth the effort. Book needs to be mainstreamed And re- released. making it into a movie would give a director a lot of choices on where to go with the emphasis.

A Real Page-Turner!

This well-written book is a real page-turner. It reads almost like a spy novel, in fact. I'm convinced the "cancer virus" developed by the doctors/scientists involved in the project actually turns out to be AIDS. A gripping thriller by an author whose father knew Dr Ochsner personally.

Interesting Read

Speculative and also lacking smoking-gun evidence. However this book does bring to light certain odd events that were going on in New Orleans in the 60s. It calls for questions that will likely never be answered. It also punctuates that fact that Oswald was involved with some very odd schemes and people (high profile and low) during his time in New Orleans before the JFK assassination. Very interesting!

Great work Edward Haslam

Wow! What a terrifying story. And it is all true. You will know it if you read it. The dots are not that hard to connect. Great work Edward Haslam! And you are so right about Judy Baker. She is the real deal.

Take notes as you read...you'll thank me

First, I love this book. Second, take notes as you read. I say this because it is written like a research paper combined with an interview. It doesn't tell a story in order so you go back and fourth on years and :characters" notes will help you keep up. This book was of great interest to me because I live in Louisiana. Most people here do not even know about the primate testing facility. This tale is nonfiction but paves a way for a huge movie to be done. After reading, I have some of m own theories. Not to spoil anything but the author has found a lot of information and makes REASONABLE assumptions about the rest. How it all plays apart to how Lee Harvey Oswald ended up I Dallas. Now I have one other theory and call me a conspiracy theorist. The author' father worked for this company and this author was exposed to things as a child. As his journey goes (starting in the 70s) he always seemed to be getting out in the right places. I cant help but wonder if he was being looked out for.

I would give this book 10 stars if I could. It's an incredible eye opener. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking truth.

This was an incredible and enlightening book. A story I did not want to believe at first but it was backed up by so many documented facts a person would have to be blind not to see the big picture. It's not something that happened long ago and that was the end of it. There are issues presented in this book that affect America today.

Polio, Castro, JFK, Lee Oswald, et al

This is an insanely compelling convergence of some of the most riveting and yet arcane episodes of our generation (boomers). It's hard to put down and is extremely well researched and documented. Draw your own conclusions but it doesn't leave many options.
