5th grade daughter LOVES these.

My daughter just turned 11.she was skeptical about reading these books as she thought it was some kind of ripoff to Diary of A Wimpy Kid. I bought her first book at the schools book fair. She was hooked. I've never seen her want to read a book as much as this series. She now has all 12 books and is currently on her 6th one. Also, I was gladly surprised that the AR point value at school for most of these are 4 and 5 points. Which adds up quickly. The Wimpy Kid books are not usually that high in point value.

I am not sure what all the rave reviews are about regarding this book. I am pretty sure I don't want my 8 year old daughter reading books that have the word " sucked" in them. I also don't want her reading about celebrity girls who don't wear underwear. Yeah! That was in this book...Not Cool. And while reading this book to her this trash was what I found. I took it away and told her I would buy her another book. It is really sad that parents allow thier children to read such filth. People have no standards anymore

this book is about a girl named Nikki Maxwell. in this book she gets her own reality show including her hole band Actually I'm Not Really Sure Yet. Then when Nikki's crush Brandon asks Nikki to help with his project to win a scholarship Nikki said yes even with her full and over packed schedule. but even if she tried she couldn't help a lot. But on the good side Brandon finished the article. But the bad side was that his article was rejected. then a lot of things happen but lets speed it up a bit. anyway about Nikki's band. it includes all of her friends in it including her crush. (you can read about it in book number 6 I think.) so as i was saying her band was so popular that they were going to sell CD's. But then when they opened the boxes they were empty.so then they did a hugging and kissing both.so in the end every thing worked out fine.

Great but one acception

If you are hesitant about your daughter reading this, then here's a huge spoiler and forewarning: Brandon and Nikki actually kiss. They're eighth graders. It happens at he end of the book. That's a bad example, but otherwise, the book is enjoyable. People are filming Nikki and her life, and what Brianna, her sister, does is hilarious.

What kind of eighth grader gets her own reality show and has a band?!? This book isn't realistic AT ALL!!!!!!! I loved the other books because they were actually somewhat realistic, but in this book, they totally changed Nikki's Character! Now she is just a self-obsessed diva that only Kim Kardashian can relate to.

If you're a fan, this is a must have!

I am almost 30 years old, and I am not ashamed to admit that I have read all of the Dork Diaries books so far! I pre-ordered this book for my 10 year old (and myself!), and we received it today. I love pre-ordering on Amazon!

I won't go into too much detail regarding the plot, but it follows Nikki through even more adventures and mishaps. The writing style is the same that readers have grown to love so much. Not too many series after 7 books can manage to keep my interest, but these fun Dork Diaries books have no problem doing so.

I can't wait to share this with my daughter! She is going to be so excited. I will update with her thoughts once she reads it.

Love love love these books

This is a really good book I read it once from the library and now I want it myself I ordered it used for only about 2 dollars in my opinion its a great read for (in my opinion) ages 8 to 14 . Also dont go by the one star reviews I read through them and half of them are good ones where people accidentaly only gave it 1 star. I love this book bcs you can really relate to Nikki and her problems and not just her problems also her enthusiasm and dorky friends . Over all this is a fun read not for someone who only likes serious reads dont judge this before you read ALL of it.

My 7 yr old loves these books.

My daughter has read all of these multiple times and she loved this one too. I only wish they took her a little longer to read, because we struggle to keep her in books that have acceptable content (not sexual or too advanced in content) but still challenging for her. She reads several grades ahead and loves these and i know theres not unacceptable content in them. :) She also loves the Warrior books, so if youre trying to find another book for your daughter who liked these books the warrior series is a good one to look at, especially in Manga form. :)
