A twisty, entertaining read!

Having read the first novel in this series, I was thrilled to have been contacted about being an ARC reader for this follow-up, and the sequel did not disappoint!

I find it difficult to give my full appreciation for thrillers, seeing how quite a bit of my thought process contains spoilers, but I will say that the characters are realistic and enjoyable, and there's humor and pleasant family fluff sprinkled throughout the drama and intrigue. I also loved that even though the villain was introduced a little beyond the halfway point, I was still left guessing just what they had in mind/were trying to achieve.

Overall, I very much enjoyed this sequel, and found it even more engrossing than the prior novel. Thank you to A.J. Campbell for allowing me to be an ARC reader! I have freely left my unbiased review.

A Must Read!

I had to tear myself away after part one! It was a very easy to get lost in page turner. I read the first part pool side in a single afternoon. Part two was brilliant with coffee on an indoor morning. I just loved it!

Loved this book!!

I had already read and loved “Leave Well Alone” and knew I had to read this amazing author’s second book. And, wow, it did not disappoint! The writing was fantastic, the characters were real and the story kept me going until the very end. AJ Campbell brings new meaning to a book that is unputdownable!! I’ll definitely be looking out for her next book!

Recommend for Suspense lovers

This is the second book featuring Eva Barnes, but it can be read a standalone. This was a thriller that kept you guessing why Marc disappeared until the end. It was more of a slow burn in the beginning, even with Eva’s friend disappearing. As Eva starts uncovering more and more secrets the pace started picking up. I enjoyed trying to put the pieces together before it was revealed on how they fit. Eva was so dedicated to helping her friend, her personal life took a small hit and Campbell did a great job portraying Eva’s emotions. I liked how after part two started, we got small perspectives from the villain. I suspected them shortly after Eva mentioned something about them (can’t say what without spoiling), but that took nothing away from the reveal for me. Without the epilogue the ending would have felt a little rushed, but it did a great job clearing up any questions I had about the aftermath of it all. I enjoyed this book.
