Great incentive for my 3rd grader to read

Trying to get my 3rd grade son to read and comprehend what he reads has been a challenge. He was recently diagnosed with ADHD and, although he is a fluent reader, he does not comprehend what he is reading. Also, getting him to sit down and read was a challenge. I bought this book while the movie was still in the theaters. His incentive was that once we read and he understood the book, we would go see the movie. This was a good incentive for him and a very heartwarming, well-written book.

I asked him how he like it? This is what he said

This was a gift to our grandson, he is ten years old. I asked him how he like it? This is what he said : " It is very interesting. There are sections very intense. Maybe recommend to a mature reader. I will rate it a 4 star."

Great read along for six year old boy!

Just finished reading this book with my six year old son tonight. We took turns reading aloud, with him reading a sentence or two of each page. It was a challenge for him, while still holding his interest. He would ask to read extra chapters and got very excited to hop in bed for reading time each night until we finished. He liked it so much that he was sad when the book ended - BUT got very excited when I then showed him seewinter.com where he can watch Winter and Hope streaming live any time he wants. Highly recommend for any ocean life or animal loving kids.
