Features & Highlights

  • From
  • New York Times
  • bestselling author Kristen Callihan comes a smart, emotional contemporary romance about finding love with the most unlikely of people.
  • As kids, they hated each other. Macon Saint was beautiful, but despite his name, Delilah knew he was the devil. That he dated her slightly evil sister, Samantha, was no picnic either. When they broke up, it was a dream come true: Delilah never had to see him again.
  • Ten years later, her old enemy sends a text.
  • Delilah’s sister has stolen a valuable heirloom from Macon, now a rising Hollywood star, and he intends to collect his due. One problem: Sam has skipped town.
  • Sparks still sizzle between Macon and Delilah, only this heat feels alarmingly like unwanted attraction. But Delilah is desperate to keep her weak-hearted mother from learning of her sister’s theft. So she proposes a deal: she’ll pay off the debt by being Macon’s personal chef and assistant.
  • It’s a recipe for disaster, but Macon can’t stop himself from accepting. Even though Delilah clearly hates him, there’s something about her that feels like home. Besides, they’re no longer kids, and what once was a bitter rivalry has the potential to be something sweeter. Something like forever.

Dear Enemies to Lovers

Once again I have read books out of order, after reading “Make is Sweet” and meeting Macon and Delilah I just had to know how they got together. I was not disappointed.

This childhood enemies to lovers story has so much heart and emotion. Macon and Delilah spent their growing up years sniping at and hating each other, as you might expect for Macon it was because he knew she saw more than he wanted and had to push her away in order to survive his terrible childhood while also holding the memory of her close to his heart. But for Delilah it was basically hate at first sight, and she would be perfectly happy to never see Macon again. Only now that her evil sister Sam has made a mess for her to clean up she and Macon have been thrown together again, as he recovers from car accident and she pays off Sam’s debut.

Callahan always manages to make you fall in love with these beautiful yet flawed characters.
My heart would hurt when they would talk about their childhood arguments and all the vile things they said and did to each other, but also laugh as they sniped at each other as they fell in love.

The burn is slow with these two but there are so many sparks and sizzle, that when we do finally get there it is a relief!

I enjoyed the heck out of this book and will definitely be reading it again!

I didn't expect to like this as much as I did

I absolutely love this book!

It literally took me a day to read it - I even did so in class! I really enjoyed the enemies-to-lovers part but what set it for me was the fact that their bickering and chemistry didn't disappear after they got together. Honestly, their bickering was my favourite part of the book.

Delilah was such a fun main character and even though I hated her sister I understand why she did what she did in the end.

Macon was great but I just wanted a bit more grovelling for all the years he made fun of her. I just didn't want Delilah to be so lenient to her sister but I get it she has a big heart and all. Maybe I'm just petty but I really wanted more on that part.

All in all, it was an amazing and fun book to read.

I fell in love with the characters 😍

The story line was very simple, the book was a really easy read, kept me interested right away. But above all else, I COULD NOT get enough of the two characters! Bravo on making them as funny as they were! I laughed out loud so many times at their bantering and the chemistry was unbelievable... wonderful read!
