Successful Christmas Present

I bought Thea James’s COOKING FOR WIZARDS, WARRIORS AND DRAGONS for a middle school young man as a Christmas present. I knew he currently enjoyed cooking (his team at school won first prize in an interscholastic cooking contest). I didn’t know what to buy him. Searching for cookbooks, I saw Cooking for Wizards, Warriers and Dragons.

The cover is soft leather with engraved lettering. Feels great. Looks great. Inside are recipes, the story behind the recipes, and some fantastic artwork.

The young fellow sent a Text saying he was extremely pleased to receive the book. In fact, he prepared his first meal using a recipe from the book. He said it tasted great.

Fascinatingly Informative and Beautiful

For those of us that collect cookbooks and adore Wizards, Warriors and Dragons this book is essential to every cookbook collection! And even if fantasy isn't your cup of tea, the recipes and illustrations are totally worth the read.

I was fascinated by my first look at the cookbook earmarking several recipes to test in the very near future. Top of my list and from one of my favorite book series, The Dragon Riders of Pern by Anne McCaffery, Ladies First Breakfast. I felt a keen association while reading the recipe associated with a book series I loved reading as a young adult. The simple yet filling meal of bread and a big mug of Klah (you'll have to but the book for the recipe) really hit home for me.

I'm so impressed by the attention to detail from both the recipe creator and illustrator; the recipes are perfectly matched to the associated book and movie passages bringing to life, each and every recipe. The illustrations are incredibly intricate , a true joy.

Congratulations, Thea James and Isabel Minunni, on this beautiful collaboration. Rebecka E.

Perfect for those who love fantasy and food!

This book is incredible. Some of the recipes are ones that we are all familiar with, fish n chips or pot roast, but many more are interesting and innovative without using a ton of impossible-to-find ingredients. All of the recipes have a reason linking them to the stories, reading these for each recipe is one of the best parts of the book.

My favorite part of the book, however, is the note for each recipe. They are funny, witty, and interesting even if you don't know the inspirational story behind the recipe.

I can't wait to try some of these! I will also be purchasing this book again in the future for gift-giving, highly recommend!

Great quality!

[[VIDEOID:dbd1358da5306e7d04f53fbee59e06bf]] The paper has a cool parchment look to it and the cover feels nice. The lettering is embossed so it has a kind of a texture to it which is cool. There’s art inside that looks cool and adds to the feel. Great gift for anyone that does rpg like Dungeons and Dragons or anyone that loves fantasy. I'm keeping this one but will order for friends in the future.

charming

Filled with beautiful illustrations and interesting lore, it's as much a coffee table book as cookbook. I will be purchasing more for gifts.

Cool but lacks info

Pretty cool book but several recipe directions aren’t complete. It leaves out small details or items asked to be removed from a pan (part of the process) but doesn’t have you put them back in. Or a cooking method that’s kinda backwards. Like adding wine to meat in order to deglaze the pan and burn off the alcohol. Just small thing like that. But it’s still fun to read.
