A truly beautiful book!
I own many books on interior design and this is the best by far - it is one thing to see projects designers have done for others, but to see how they decorate for themselves is a true indication of how they live.
Their interiors are not for show, as are many American ones - however grand the home (and they are grand!),
you still feel that you could walk in, plop down and be very comfortable. Just to be in one of their libraries would be a dream come true.

It's a keeper
Those who love classic, relatable English decorating (as opposed to unapproachable, grandiose interiors) will welcome this handsome book which showcases 23 designers. The photography, which includes exterior and interior images, is excellent and the text is interesting. The author included a few designers who deviate from what I think of as classic — Beata Heuman and Alidad come to mind — but it only goes to show how vibrant the design world is in the UK. I loaned it to a friend and she ordered her own copy; I next shared it with a neighbor and began to wonder if I would see the book again.

A Wonderful Book
This is a great book. The included homes are interesting, personal, and gorgeous. There is so much to learn from the designers that I find myself repeatedly going back to the book for ideas and confidence. The photos are clear, well done, and not overly styled. The writing is excellent and lacks the pretentiousness that you find in so many of the shelter magazines-the 50 million dollar hedge fund manager’s home full of priceless art with the writer’s humblebrag about a Crate & Barrel basket in the butler’s pantry-none of that silliness in British Designers At Home. Just clear informative writing. Very well done.

Love this book!
There is absolutely nothing more to love than a charming, comfortable home full of warmth and family history. These rooms are so beautiful. I discovered Stamps and Stamps on Instagram. Check them out. They work in Pasadena and Southern California mainly. Perfection! Mainly wonderful photos. Not much writing, which I also love!
This is such a new book, if you are in the area, the authors are holding book signings to celebrate their accomplishments. Cheers!

One of my favorite design books--and I have many
It's something of a disease--this constant collecting of design books. Someone said it's like an ugly woman constantly trying on hats, figuring maybe this one will finally do the trick! But seriously, one can learn a great deal from designers, and most of all from their own homes. Lovers of British style will find this book remarkable in that it is neither "traditional" nor "modern" but eclectic. One recognizes certain features of British style, particularly the use of strong color on the walls (where DO these designers get their paints? Are they all custom mixed?), the fearless use of color in upholstery, the mixing of styles and periods, the uninhibited clutter in some of the rooms. Not all of the houses will appeal, but at least in my case almost all of them do.

Hitting the Highlights
Priort to the pandemic I had no knowledge of a single indinvidual in this book. Having recently purchased it, I'm delighted that they're all my 'Favorite British Designers'! It's a beauitful book of beautiful homes. I'd say this is more of a fanclub book. There are no literary jewels here, but for me personally, sort memory book of my interior design projects. Kime and Morrison lampshades, Konig and Alidad courses, and books by many others -- especially Campbell, Grenny, Heuman, Houghton; Thank you all for making social distancing bearable through books like this one!

Colorful and very much English country house...
I had initially passed on this book thinking it would contain too many too-formal rooms and too much name-dropping for my taste! There is that to an extent; however, I'm glad I finally broke down and got a copy. This book is a riot of color and pattern and just a pleasure to look through. I enjoyed the written parts that went w/ each designer and home too; they were well done. My favorite homes were the ones belonging to Wendy Nicholls, Emma Burns and Carlos Sanchez-Garcia. These three homes were a little more casual and while very diff. from each other shared a "calmer" sense. I've known who Emma Burns was since she was featured in an issue of House Beautiful magazine 25 years ago and I still like her country-casual look. Wendy Nicholls' way of using what she had and just "spreading it out" in her larger home fits my sense of liking things a little more spare. She wants to re-do her kitchen and I say "NO" because I like it just the way it is ;0 Carlos S-G's house has some spaces that are just plain pretty w/ his use of color; again not a total riot of color and pattern but just right! The quality of the book and the homes featured is just great and this is a keeper for my collection.
