Like many other people, I have been a fan of Roma Downey's since her days as Monica on Touched By An Angel. When I saw she was coming out with her new book, Box of Butterflies, I couldn't wait to read it.

Box of Butterflies is as beautiful as it is inspirational. Downey's book is part memoir, part inspiration, and part beauty. Throughout the book, Downey shares some of her personal history and challenges that she has over come to be who she is today. She not only inspires readers through her story, she also shares poems and songs that have inspired her throughout her life. In the midst of her story and the inspirational poems and songs, she also shares beautiful pictures of butterflies and nature throughout the book. Downey also shares in Box of Butterflies how butterflies have a special meaning to her and how they have been a special messenger from God at different times in her life. Her stories and the pictures all work together to create a truly lovely and inspiring book.

I would encourage any fan of Roma Downey's to get a copy of Box of Butterflies. At the same time, I think this book could be real encouragement to someone who is feeling down, who is ill, or need of being uplifted through any difficult life circumstance. Downey clearly has faced difficulties in her life and has kept her deep faith in God. She also tells of her relationship with the late Della Reese and shares part of why their relationship is so special in Box of Butterflies. Reese even wrote the forward to her book before she passed away making it even more special for Touched By An Angel fans. Box of Butterflies will remind you that "God Loves You" and who can't use a little more of that?

Book Launch Copy-This book is written with heart and compassion. As I read it, so many thoughts and quotes touched my heart and soul. I had every emotion imaginable while reading. The inserts from famous authors and poets gave it that extra special touch. When my hardback copy comes, I am going to have to hold back on going through it and underlining it like I do my Bible. So many of the topics she touched on were ones I could relate to. The good and the bad. For everything Roma has gone through, I am proud of her for being the woman she is today. God has blessed her deeply and will continue to.

Roma is a very strong person and keeps God at the center of everything. We should all do that. Butterflies, love, more butterflies, lots more love...This is a must read and a great book for gift giving. Mother's day especially.

I highly recommend Box of Butterflies having experienced great loss myself.
I could SO relate to this book. We lost our son to cancer several years ago. He was a gifted surgeon, athlete, a great father and husband. After his death I asked for a sign that he was ok. For one whole year the Lord sent me butterflies everyday. On the days it was too cold, He sent them in a movie or in an ad in a magazine. 365 butterflies 🦋
This book will touch your heart and make you realize that even in sorrow, God will stand by us and even though we don’t understand why, we can rest assured that He is in control.
This inspiring book is full of great quotes, scripture and stories. It is a sweet devotional book that is easy to read.
I think you will enjoy the book and that you will see that something as tiny and beautiful as a butterfly can find our heart and help us see the love of God. This is a lovely and sensitive book that will touch each of us who have been through loss ....and sadness. It certainly blessed my life. I bought one for my daughter too ....for Easter. I’ve always thought of the butterfly as a picture of our newness in Christ.

Basic "inspirational" claptrap from someone who has never had any real barriers to overcome. Lacks intellectual rigor and
word salad contains no nutrition. Read it only if you want to lose IQ points.

A heart warming book that will encourage and uplift you. So many inspiring quotes and words hard to pick one to include. I bought 6 copies to share with all my sister friends who have helped me along my way in life. Roma's life and this book are blessings.

I truly enjoyed reading this beautiful and uplifting story and the significance of butterflies in Roma's life as a recurring sign of God's love. Roma's story serves as such a lovely inspiration to all of how God's blessings and grace surround us if we just take the time to look and listen. The analogy of a butterfly to illustrate hope and transformation during times of difficulty, uncertainty and struggle is both familiar and uplifting. The quotes and illustrations that appear throughout the book offer positive reassurance and optimism. May this book provide hope and encouragement to those in despair, affirmation to those who seek to know God's presence in their lives and a delightful reminder to the faithful who have experienced first hand God's blessings and love. A must read book for all - "Box of Butterflies: Discovering the Unexpected" would make an excellent gift for friends and family members.

The cover is beautiful and she includes many wonderful quotes. However, she is very repetitve and tells too many stories about her own life. I would definitely not recommend this to anyone.
