Boss I love

A love a book that can take me by surprise. When I was reading chapter 1, I thought that Sonia was going to be my person and it would take me a while to like Brad, but as it turned out, I liked Brad more than I liked Sonia. To be honest, I got the impression that the author wanted to write a different kind of hero than the average one, but she decided to go with the most used and (most hated for me) way by making him a manwhore. Throughout the book, we are reminded that Brad has slept with many women including most if not all of his secretaries, which was not to my liking. In chapter one, we even see him in the bathroom after he did the deed with another woman. But also in chapter one, he admits that he wants a happy marriage and family. So one hand he is the kind of person who sleeps around and on the other, he is looking for a happily ever after, which are opposites. At least he said that he was dating Olivia for her personality. Later on, we see a Brad who is not a douche and loves his nieces like they were his own kids. He is the cool uncle. And I fell for that guy. He is caring and loving and he knows how to plan a date.

Sonia, on the other hand, seemed a little cold and too hung up on her ex. She just couldn't let go and move on like a normal person, which was something that didn't sit well with me. Another thing that made me not like her so much was the whole sanitary pad scene. I understand why she didn't want to help, but as a woman, I am judging her, because we should always help each other. I can't give more details, but when you read the book or if you already have, please tell me if I am too harsh or if I was right. It helped as a plot device, but I did not like that kind of attitude.

In the end, Brad and his nieces are the ones who stole my heart. That man was a great hero and I wasn't expecting that. I liked how Sonia's feelings for him were slowly changing and went from hate to love.Their relationship had a nice development and it was one of the book's strongest points.

Let it go!

At what point do you let go of the hurt? Sonia doesn’t know, that’s for sure. I was so frustrated with her and her inability to just let go. I mean I get it, her ex hurt her but she kept looking back instead of looking at what was right in front of her.

Brad, on the other hand, was truly the Hero in this book. He is a great uncle to his nieces, he helped Sonia when she needed it and he understood the family dynamics of his brothers relationships.

I almost DNF this book, but because of Brad kept reading. The last part of the book is better, but honestly I still a hard time with Sonia right up until the end.

One of my top 10 books ever!

I haven't liked a book this much in a long time! I absolutely love that this book didn't follow the romance novel check list. It was unique, sweet, and I love that it wasn't strung along. Every single part of this book had a purpose, and it totally fulfilled them. It wasn't drawn out, it was the perfect length. Not left feeling like oh that's it, but also not left feeling like can this just be done already. It wasn't crowded with unnecessary scenes, all just built up the characters and their love. Plus my love of them! It sucks you in from page one, and it doesn't release you until the last word. It was perfection, I absolutely adore this book! The characters were phenomenally written, they balanced each other out in the perfect way and were meant for each other! I absolutely loved them! I know everyone is all about the book boyfriends, but personally the way this book was written didn't make me want Brad, because he was so perfect for Sonia that the only person I want for him is her, and vice versa. I honestly did not like Brad at first, and I really doubted that I could, plus I didn't know how Sonia could ever like him. Especially with how self absorbed he seems, but boy did I ever fall in love with him. With them together. His redemption was so much sweeter because of how much I disliked him to begin with. Perfectly written, unique, wonderfulness. I will be rereading this over and over again. One of my top ten books ever! Mia Kayla knocked this one out of the park, she left me with more feelings than I knew what to do with. The ultimate book hangover ( I mean hangover like I couldn't get over it or stop thinking about it), nothing could compare. Heart-eyes!

I was so excited to read this book! Ever since it was announced, I was already waiting in dire anticipation... I was anxiously counting the days for the ARC's to be sent out... because duh, it's from Mia Kayla—she's one of my faves, straight up. Marry Me for Money was one of the books I'd like to re-read... I've probably re-read it three or four times since it came out years ago.

This is the story of Brad Brisken and Sonia Vanducci... if you've read the blurb, you'd already have an idea on how their office dynamic would be... but I tell ya'll, it's more than meets the eye...

I admit, the storyline is not something I haven't read before... but it did have it's own uniqueness—which I wont discuss in bullet points because I'm pretty sure I'd be giving away the story.

It's an all-around feel-good romance... it's something you'd want to read after a horrible or tiring day... their candid banter, the overall flow of the story... their evolvement from boss-employee to something seriously more, was seamless... I like that they didn't jump into their feelings right away...

This story would make you see that sometimes we need a little push to see what's in-front of us... that it's okay to take risks for the right person... that eventhough there's no guarantee it'll all work out, at least it's still worth it in the end (sigh).

I seriously want more... I was expecting a longer epilogue.... I was like, Nnnooo! This couldn't be it?! I can't wait to read more from Brad and Sonia... maybe even a story about Mason.

#BILK

Sonia has been working for Brad for a couple of years now, and she's the only female to last that long, as he can't keep a secretary to save his life. To say he's difficult to work for is too nice, although his sleeping with them then not wanting to repeat it is a bigger issue. Sonia has no desire to sleep with him, in fact, she actually hates him, and gives him hell right back, so it seems certain this is why she's kept the job longer than any other woman. Of course, she kept me rolling in laughter the whole time, because she's hilarious with her no filtered self as he's a total douche to be honest. But somewhere in the middle of the story, she starts to see him in a different light. He has two nieces who he loves, and Sonia gets to know those two nieces, which starts her on the friendship path with Brad, and also a bit of blackmail as well. This blackmail takes the story in a whole new direction, and WOW! Still plenty of laughter, but the heat is coming out in spades. Oh, and now there are twists added in for some f-bomb dropping fun. I can't say enough about Mia Kayla's writing, because seriously, I'm in love with it! But don't take my word for it, read Boss I Love to Hate immediately to see how it all pans out! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Amazing stars

Boss I Love To Hate
Mia Kayla
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Dayum, that was so good. I love discovering new authors, and scoring this one in a competition was an added bonus. Boss I Love To Hate is my first read from Mia and definitely will not be my last. She has made the normal boss/secretary, enemies to lovers storyline sooo good.

I adored Brad Brisken, his “I’m a company owner and will take in the world” attitude takes a tumble in a daily bass thanks to his personal assistant, Sonia Vanducci. Her take no prisoners, don’t put up with his crap attitude means his day to day work life is as amusing as it is hot…. Sonia has a lovely name for her boss – BILK, (boss I’d like to kill), and she makes it pretty well known through his inappropriate organising of dates, flowers and motels for his pleather of women.

But on one day the boss/ employee lines blur beyond belief. An uncle on babysitting duties, a teenager who turned into a woman overnight and Sonia saving the day. In a laugh out loud chapter Brad is so out of his element, he recruits Sonia to help with the feminine hygiene sourcing, with a deal made. He must do her a favour no questions asked…. Yep, he needs to attend her best friends wedding as her boyfriend so her ex and her replacement see she’s moved on. Enter even more laughs – Brad isn’t boyfriend material, so pulling this off is hilarious. Taking it all very seriously, he goes all out for her. No longer the douchebag boss, Brad becomes something more.

Even as the wedding passes, her ex has been out in his place, Sonia rights herself off, the point is made but for both Brad and Sonia become more than boss and secretary. She’s sees a new side of him, he sees a new side of himself. Being in a relationship isn’t what they looked for, but sometimes opposites really do attract. If only his stupidity doesn’t bring it all to an end…. It was nice to see the heroin as the love it and leave it type as opposed to the hero, Sonia was so strong she really had me hooked much earlier then Brad. Together they are a 5 star team in a 5 star read.

Fresh, Sweet, Sexy, Feel Good Romance

**4.25 Blushes**

Brad Brisken as a boss is a jerk! A smoking hot, sexy, very successful jerk that can’t keep an assistant to save his life. His brother’s hire him one at a very healthy salary to keep his professional life in line.

Sonia Vanducci is smart, competent and very snarky. I loved that about her cause it reminded me of ME. She knows all about his hit it and quit it ways with women. Her salary allows her to live a comfortable life so she’ll deal.

I’ve worked for a guy whose unbearable and just a terror to everyone that works under him. Then one of his daughter’s would call and his personality would completely flip as if he were a different person. That’s Brad in a nutshell. He sees what his brother’s have and wants it for himself, though it seems to elude him. His nieces are the great loves of his life. His secretary, Sonia, runs his days with precision but he’s never looked at her as a women to fill his nights. Until a sticky family situation forces him to rely on her outside of the office and things start to get interesting.

Sonia then has a situation of her own to deal with - a wedding. Her best friend from college is getting married and Sonia is part of it. UNTIL - her ex-boyfriend is invited to said wedding AND his plus one is the incarnation of a living Barbie doll. Sonia can't go alone and look like a total loser?! She could her boss to be her “date”. One hand washes the other. He owes her big time and they strike a deal. He’ll play nice and be her date but they’re gonna do it his way. Except Brad is used to getting his way and Sonia is used to not taking his nonsense.

I wouldn’t exactly call this enemy to lovers. Though the back and forth banter between them was adorable. Things don’t heat up right away and that was ok with me. It felt more organic when they start to realize that there is something between them.

Brad’s needs help with his nieces and Sonia needs an impressive date for the wedding. They both start to discover that they really didn’t know each other at all. They need each other. Sarah is coming of age and missing her mom and angelic Mary who has everyone wrapped around her little finger. The kids added a sweet punch to the heart. Sonia and Sarah ditch Brad so they lunch and girl chat. Mary saying please with simultaneous kisses until she gets ice cream. They enriched Boss I’d Like to Hate.

The characters were solid. The pacing felt easy. Mia Kayla, made this uber used plotline feel fresh, funny and sexy instead of it just being more of the usual. This was definitely a make you smile and feel good kind of romance.

Can we have the background stories on the other Brisken Brother’s please?

I Love This Boss!

As with every Mia Kayla book, Boss I Love To Hate is a romping page-turner that you just can't put down until you know the characters get their happy ending. And I so wanted Sonia to get her happy ending. Sure, she could be kind of mean and surly toward Brad, but she was also sweet and caring, too. But then, so is he. Of course, they don't see that in each other in the beginning, but something happens that puts them in a different light and that's where the true fun begins! I really enjoyed reading their story and seeing where it all went and I loved their resolution. This is for sure on my top fave list now. Well done, Mia Kayla, well done!
